Let me play devils advocate here.This is how i see it.Fergie knows that in the summer,the team that hasnt won anything since the seventies are going to come knocking on the door to sign Judas,so he signs him up,bumps up his wages to a ridiculous amount of money,and keeps him sweet for a few more months.As we know contracts mean bugger all,so when money bags are on the phone again sniffiffing round the mercenary,Fergie will say you can have the little shite,but as he is conrtacted to the best team in Manchester,the price is now alot more than you would have paid Oct 2010.

Moneybags from Wastelannds wont be bothered,as they will see it as getting one over on the enemy,the City fans will love it,United will make a fortune.And Wayneypoo and Paul Stretford will be laughing all the way to the bank.Such a shame that football at this level has come down to this.Give me grass roots any day,

whilst i agree that fergie should have got rid off him , who was gonna buy him ? what premiership team would he get a game in ? not chelsea nor arsenal nor even man shitty , his vocabulary clearly states he has to stay in the uk , and he himself stated he wants to win trophys , and be with a club with ambition to challenge for trophys , but then again if he scores the winner against shitty all will be forgiven , should have loaned him out to cardiff ? they might win something this season , and they have ambition to play in the premiership ?

chelsea where never in for him . i read in one of the weekend papers that roman abramovich as rained in the spending big time , seems hes realised they will never break even let alone make a proffit . do you remember the judas peter kenyon making that stupid comment about chelsea being " self surffciant" in four years after he defected from man u? how long ago was that six , seven , eight years ?

truth is once this chelsea side as run its course they are crossed off fergies hit list and when the sheik from wastelands gets fed up it will be back to man utd and arsenal . . .

Hi Andy,

Yes he looks a gun does the "little pea" still a bit raw me thinks though.Not alot to choose from at the moment though,so will have to give him plenty of game time.When is Hargreaves back.Whats wrong with Wes Brown,and the twins.Its time that Nani stepped to the plate.He is the one that reminds me of a young Ronaldo,

fergies building again,i dont think we are quite good enough this year,i dont think he will walk away from old trafford till he has built a team capable of challenging for the title and champions leauge this will be his final fling before he handsover with a bit of luck to mouriniho.hernandez could just be the one with his youth and enthusiasm.

Re MSG 16 there have been several similar conspiracy theories doing the rounds along these lines but I can't see it. A move for Rooney as a player under a long contract as opposed to a player coming to the end of his contract will cost Rooney millions in a lesser signing on fee. His agent would have made him well aware of that. City won't be keen to sign a player and pay over the odds for a player who on current form won't even make the Europa squad.

A police-man stops a car on the motorway, suspecting the driver of being drunk whilst driving. He knocks on the window and asks;

" Excuse me could you breathe into this tube please?"

The man hands him a card which reads; This patient is asthmatic, and breathing into the tube may give him an asthma attack.

So the police-man asks;

" Can i take your blood then?"

The man gives him another card which reads; This patient is haemophilic, and a needle prick could cause him to die of blood loss.

Tired, the police-man asks him;

"Can you urinate into this bottle then?"

The man hands him a final card which reads;

This patient is a Liverpool fan, do not take the piss.

Maths made easy with Manchester United

From The Official MUFC Maths Workbook, which covers sums for practising Key Stage Two maths for 7-11 year olds. This has been introduced as part of the Government's maths campaign.

1. Roy is 78 yards away from the referee at Old Trafford and Gary is 65 yards away. If Roy can run at 21mph and Gary can run at 16mph, who will be sticking their vein-bulging forehead into the hapless whistler's face first, assuming Roy does not stop to stamp on an opponent on his way.

2. If one minute of time is taken up in a game for substitutions and one minute for injuries, how much injury time will be added on by the referee if Man Utd are losing at home?

3. Ryan is a Welshman. Express, as a percentage, the number of

internationals he has missed on a Wednesday evening compared to the miraculous recoveries he made for the following Saturday.

6. You are the referee at Old Trafford. How near to a visiting defender does a tumbling Ruud van Nistelrooy have to be to earn a penalty if he goes down in the box? (Note: Round your answers down to the nearest 20 yards.)

6a. Probability. Express the statistical probability of visitors to Old Trafford being awarded a penalty. Compare this with the probability of opponents of Manchester United being awarded a penalty home or away, and then discuss if a penalty awarded to Manchester United would be awarded to their opponents in identical circumstances.

7. Mark "The Red" lives in Guildford. How much does it cost for him and his two sons to travel to the Theatre of Silence every other weekend, including limited edition matchday programme, a few drinks and prawn sandwiches all round? How much could he save per week if he watched his local team instead?

(Note: Round your answers down to the nearest thousand pounds).

Just heard on the news that Mr Rooney could be out for a lot longer than Man u had originally thought!!!!!!!!!!

Ferguson has cocked up big style this time, he will have already paid Wayne over 1 million in wages before he is ready to play, and who is to say he will ever get back in the squad with the ' little pea ' playing out of his skin.

I bet Rooney is enjoying himself in Dubia knowing that he is on such a good wage while he is ' injured!!! '

Sorry clayton I didn't see any questions but happy to answer any! The city of Manchester stadium was impressive when opened but is even more impressive now our owners have invested significant money in the new external fan zones which really add to the match day experience. Despite the large sums being invested on the playing front our esteemed owners have been careful to listen and look after the core support. You won't find a single fan with a bad word to say about the regime now running the club and they are also investing considerable sums in the local area. On the pitch is a question of when not if they win the league. Those splashing the most cash always do. Franchise Utd have done it for years, their supporters conveniently seem to forget they were spending nearly £30 on veron and Ferdinand almost a decade ago and broke transfer record after transfer record year on year.Chelsea have done it as did Blackburn under walker. Now it's our turn and it's been a long wait.

Jessie, very good post and i for one wish Man City all the best this year and future years. Man u fans have always been fickle, ok when things are going well but the Theatre of Screams will be empty as soon as they start dropping. Just look at the attendance figures for the 'Worhtless Cup' game last week, 39% down on regular attendance. One thing that Man u fans cant seem to grasp is that their club cannot continue to operate with such massive debts. Andy f keeps telling us that their debt is manageable, but debt is only manageable if you are paying it down, not if its increasing year on year as is the case at Utd. After the Rooneygate affair the other week the BBC interviewed Man u fans outside old trafford and the general feeling was that it was good for the club to pay Rooney £200000 per week and the fans were telling the Glazers to' get the cheque book out and lets buy some more world class players!!!!!' It beggars belief!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cor blimey g'vnor you reds are getting bitter. The article in Newlads post is pretty spot on. Turn off left after the Derby Arms and you'll find me. As for the stadium not belonging to us talks with the Manchester City Council are well advanced for purchase of the freehold as part of a huge redevelopment both on the stadium site and other sites owned by our esteemed leader in the area. The reality is we've got a 250 year lease so not a massive difference anyway. Prepare yourself for new shops, hotels leisure facilities and £50m training complex being giving us the best facilities in the world. We have an excellent relationship with Manchester City Council who recognise the significant contribution the Sheik is bringing to the area. Contrast that with Utds relationship with Trafford Council who try to shut down parts of the ground at every opportunity. Whilst the major projects are still in the pipeline the 20 full time and 30 part time city in the community staff are doing great work.

Gary,check out the new rules for next year. You lot wont be allowed to play if they have an aggregate debt of more than £50 million a year over a three year period.

As andy f is always saying ' i'm lovin it!!!!!!!!'

geoff

as you know one rule for one and one rule for others.were m,u,f,c, mate.looks like this breakaway league will come quicker then we thought.do you really think talking sence that utd will be thrown out of the prem.goeff the glaziers see this what do you think they will do.you dont have to be good at maths to see they will rape the club over the next 2 yrs then sell to the highest bidder.the way i see i support man united football team so what happens ,, happens.as i have said before you other supporters should be glad that the glaziers are there it gives you a chance of winning things if utd have no money to spend on strengthening the team,were not going away.and do you really think there will be no takers,the money dunn has said a billion will be chicken feed.

m.u.f.c. always in your face.

Gary, i admire you for being a true fan, which not all who say they support Man u are.

No being serious i cant see Man u being thrown out of the Premiership, they will find a way around it, but the sooner united get shot of the Glazers the better for the club. We at Liverpool have just gone through it all and we can only hope that the new owners are as good as their word, time will tell, we might end up in the same sort of situation.

Regarding Fred Done, yes he is a multi millionair, but not a billionair so he will need others to come in with him if he wants to buy united, i for one think its a good idea as he is a big fan of the club, so would have the club at the front of his thoughts at all times.

Friday night will be the biggest game in the short history of F.C.United of Manchester as they are playing a team that are 4 leagues above them.So no pressure on the lower division team.To reach the first round proper of the F.A. cup is achievement enough,i personally think it would be an achievement to keep Rochdale down to four goals,but we will see.Two games away from a possible 3rd round tie against "big united" as the F.C. fans call them.I can always dream,

Paul.,

Gomez should have - but playing the advantage should have been halted as soon as the ball was handled - amazing the number of blind spots that exist in the eyes of the officials when they're at Old Trafford isn't it?!!

Kav, the score was only 1-0 at the time of the 'disputed' goal and although to me it beggars belief that the linesman didn't see the handball I still think Man.U would have won the game. It's just a shame that the controversy overshadowed the best performance of the weekend by the Toon.

I think there's more to this story than meets the eye. Why send him all that way? Is a story about to unfold?
