MOT Expiry date?

Good question...... Its 3 years or supposed to be...however i got stopped on march the 15th, and was told my MOT had run out...the date of the last test was 31st March 2005! when i pointed out that i thought they lasted 3 years i was informed that they do....but not exactly 3 years!! So why dont they put the expiry date on then? i asked.... he just shrugged and handed me a ticket!......

Your story made me laugh out loud - this is so typical of Cyprus rules & regulations, they know if you have 'broken' them but cannot tell you what they are.

Hi, the other difference is when you bought the car( that is if you bought a car here) did the previous owner have it MOT'd at the correct time. I made that mistake. Thought it was 3 years, but the previous owner MOT'd it a year late, i.e. just before he sold it to me. Then you get a nice fine!!!

i have this problem at the moment. asked my cypriot friends and they don't know either. another friend who is a cid policeman is going to check my paperwork and decide for me.

The MOT dates for each registration are published on the wall in the tax office in Girne.
