Oh merciful god No, this is an utter disgrace, its unbeleivable that nobody can step in to stop it. The world needs to know about this. Didnt Mr Denktash say this week in CT to go to the ECHR. This makes me want to get out of here so much when i see this treatment x

My heart sinks. What a stain on the TRNC. Is this what they fought for?

Absolutely discusting state of affairs, but I doubt there will be more to come, Lilli the bank has the wherewithall to stop it but seemingly wont

I'm just flabbergasted that it has come to this - surely this must rank as TRNC's most shameful day.

Absolutely disgusting. How can Akfinans Bank customers remain loyal to such an organisation?

Akfinans Bank are a bunch of Swiss Bankers! (Cockney rhyming slang for those of you who think it's a compliment)

The eviction process through the courts is very slow and ı don't expect an eviction before a year. However, some good may come out of this because it will bring home to the locals what is happening. The tide of public opinion is strong enough to sweep away even strong banks. Akfinans is relatively small.

I suggest the expats in question stop following the useless solicitors (they are the same all over the world) and pay a visit to Mınistry of Interior for a formal complaint and a petition. I am sure a lot ıf TCs will join in with the Brits to sign such a petition. The trick is to inform some of the newspapers such as Kıbrıs, Afrika and Halkın Sesi about their intentions and make sure they are there to take pictures and report the event.

If anyone needs my help in organising such an action, contact me on;

It looks like no one needs any help on the subject? So why post this on a forum?

Whining and crying is of no use anywhere! One must first try and help themselves!

If the eviction process is not opposed in court, the whole process can finish within a couple of months.

I repeat again, that if the government wish to demonstrate to TC's and expats, alike; in fact, the whole world, that they respect basic human rights, rather than the 'rights' of an [allegedly] rogue bank, they must step in with the necessary measures of prevention to stop these iniquitous evictions.

Only by such action can the government claw back a modicum of respect that has been, some will say 'irretrievably', lost by condoning the unethical and deeply flawed laws that have resulted in the opening of a whole Pandora's box of mistrust and discontent within the TRNC and abroad.

Stating or repeating well known facts in a forum means nothing. None of the concerned government officials would be aware of what is strongly discussed here! The question is not "what should the government do", BUT "What action are all these concerned people going to take" (and there seems to be an abundance of them). If one is scared to make their voice heard - understendably in TRNC, especially if you are foreigner - then one will have to "shut up and put up!".

perhaps we could have a silent, candlelit vigil - oh, I forgot that was forbidden as would any other action which could have an impact. The pressure they have put on the Kulaksiz 5 pensioners is so great I assume they expect them to cave in or die. Something tells me that the publicity that evictions would bring is the last thing Akfinans Bank wants.

So, what you are effectively saying, 'bigOz', is, that if foreigners don't like this sort of treatment, they should simply "shut up and put up!"

You know, as well as most TC's and expats, that foreigners have no say and no rights, despite what the TRNC Constitution states, so what action do you propose they can they take?

And to refute your statement that 'concerned' government officials are not aware of what is discussed here and in NCFP - how come Pauline Read was summoned to the police station and her computer confiscated?

They must think they can con their way into Paradise as well - some hope. They should be afraid, very afraid.
