After reading last weeks Cyprus Today and the census results,I have now been forced to change my view that TC's will vote for re-unification.It appears the level of distrust ,especially of TC toward GC government, is at such a level that the potential economic rewards will not be enough to convince the majority to vote yes.

Its on page 13.My scanner isnt working but main points were.

Of the 875 people polled by the UBP



62% support separate states



71% believe the negotiations will fail.



67% will not now vote for a package similar to Annan plan.



Only 6.7% said they trusted the Greek Govt.



93% wanted a solution for economic reasons.



80.6% trusted Turkey,



37% preferred waiting for Turkeys entry to EU before applying after solution.



Less than half trusted the UN & EU.





In the poll for Greek Newspaper.



42% for separate states



82% OF T.C's do not want to live under Greek Cypriot admin.



42% have no confidence in the G.C's



Half said some territory should be surrendered.



46% said no territory should be given away.

Back on topic,

I agree it is going to be very difficult to convince TCs to accept a solution. All of our friends changed their view of GCs following the Annan Plan vote. They don't believe or trust the politicians (GC, TC, MEP) anymore.

yes most of our tc friends totally distrust mr.t. they are all thinking along the lines that he will sell them out. apparentley he is not cypriot or turkish but of armenian decent.
