Silly - how can anyone say it's gone silly?

We've some wonderful posts recently - there've been gravy granules and sausages to name but two. What I think is most beneficial is the increased use of "text" talk. I love it, I really do. By the time it's taken me to decipher a message, I've forgotten what it's all about. Then, of course, there are the messages that are so badly spelt/punctuated that normal, literate people haven't got a clue what they're about. I love it on here, I really do - it makes me look vaguely intelligent. We have people who totally misquote 'sayings' thereby missing the entire point they are trying to get across; e.g. "never a true word spoken in jest". This surely should have been "many a true word, etc. etc. And then, of course, we have those who totally misconstrue the meaning of words. I won't go into that now, as it will turn rather lengthy. However, there is one person on this board who should certainly look up the word "profligate".

here we go again, attack me time. So be it. Do it as much as you want get it out of your systems.

Jeannie, you seem to have a short memory. Just a few weeks ago you were apologising to to profusely for being so abusive to me. Here you go again, I have not said a word against you. I have not even mentioned you once.

Tootie, what has the number of posts I have made, what you think of them got to do with it?

Joe, here is an example of what goes on now.

Mike -no, I have not forgotten; far from it. We had, as I remember, a short exchange of e-mails, during which I apologised to you over a case of mistaken identity, and I felt we had sorted things out. However, Mike, if you post on a public forum (your choice) and people do not agree with what you think/post, etc. etc. then I'm afraid you must expect ribbing/criticism, as well as praise, when it is due.

Mike, you pays your money and you takes your choice, love.

Take a fool's advice - have a rest from 44. Just a suggestion

Kind regards.

Jean

Jean, instead of posting from the UK to criticise, why don't you live here to criticise?

That is some paranoid chip on your shoulder Mike. Why does someone have to actually live in the TRNC to criticise?

Of course none of your postings contain anything negative about places other than the TRNC.....Now do they?

Of course it's only paranoia if people do like you?

Hi Lilli, how are you and Guido... I see and read your posts which helps me keep up with things Lapta end.

Sorry to read of your recent loss... you know what I'll do... r.i.p.

Mari and I are well, just celebrating the birth of our first grandchild so yet another good reason to keep smiling

We expect to be out late March so will try to pop down for a coffee and a chat

Hi Mikelapta... as with Lilli... will give you a bell early next year when we are out together; I hope to be in trnc next month by myself to get some work done on the villa, it has been a long haul but we are getting there...

I bet you enjoyed the derby... the boys and I sure did... looks like we had our usual bad start and now hopefully will start to climb the table. Keep smiling Mike and look after your new found friend, find him a little blue collar and you'll never look back

Regards to all, Joseph

msg. 4

I must say I enjoy C44 because occasionally I learn a new word

Quote from a dictionary on my computer:

profligate

▶ adjective

profligate local authorities: WASTEFUL, extravagant, spendthrift, improvident, prodigal.

a profligate lifestyle: DISSOLUTE, degenerate, dissipated, debauched, corrupt, depraved; PROMISCUOUS, loose, wanton, licentious, libertine, decadent, abandoned, fast; SYBARITIC, voluptuary.

Hi Aj... yes I have met Chris and San a number of times on site and over the phone etc.

October we met again on site and had a coffee or two while working on various problems with our builds.

Our site has come on in leaps and bounds since I spoke to you last year, with the advent of electricity and water on site and there are now a number of owners resident. Problems remain but a firm resolve wrapped in courtesy will ever win the day... I hope... we are so close now we can see the finishing line

Hi Jeannie and Spider... thanks for the kind wishes... nice to see old friends still active on 44,

Regards to you and all.

Hi Joseph, I agree message 25 were so close you can sneeze on the dust from the touch line.

I wonder if you got the opportunity to see the fire flies dancing round your street light?

Were sorry we missed you again, talk about under estimating the time we had !!

We were so greatful to have such great neighbours.

Regards J
