why not try the afternoons could possibly still use the roofbar. why concentrate on the evenings like every bar on this island why not be different.maybe it will work.

The restaurant is open from 14:00 and we do give 20% discount for all the food and the local drinks from 14:00 untill 18:00!



We are also thinking of showing newly released movies in Full HD format with high quality surround sistem. Can we get some comments on this?

dont think that will work, given everyone can purchase and what at home. think entertainment in afternoons would work though. open earlier with some cheap lunches, then entertainment and close at night save on costs, you never know got to try these things to see if it works. expats seem to hibernate in winter evenings

I really like the idea of showing newly released films in the afternoon. You could maybe have an informal film club where people watched and then sat around and chatted about what they thought of the films. It would be something different to do on a winter afternoon. It would keep us up to speed on the film scene. The best film I watched recently was Angelina Jolie's 'Salt' and I would have loved someone to discuss it with (apart from Mr s that is!).

We will do the afternoon movies once a week.

This week on Thursday the 4th, we'll put on "Robin Hood"

Robin Hood is a 2010 American/British adventure film based on the Robin Hood legend, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Russell Crowe.

The movie will start at 15:00

Hi The Barrell... just to let you know we are not back until Nov 15th, so 18th would be the first we could attend. Didn't want to sound keen and you think we just didn't turn up! Btw, a bit of name dropping.... Ridley Scott and I went to the same school ... Grangefield Grammar School, Stockton. Unfortunately, he was there about 10 years before me, and our paths did not cross. :(
