THY Check In Times Query

Does anyone know whether when flying from Ercan to Stansted via Istanbul is the flight to Istanbul considered to be a domestic flight and thus subject to only a 1 hour check in or is it considered International and therefore subject to a 2 hour check in??

I've actually done it with only about 20 min to spare (due to transport probs!) I think with hand luggage you're ok going 1 hour before but if you've baggage to check in I'd give them 2 hours to be on the safe side!



If it's the very early morning flight (about 5am) you sometimes get checked in then have to sit & wait for the passport guys to finish their coffee before they let you through!

Leave it late, miss your date.



Better to sit in the lounge frustrated than to find you cant get on - at IAH we would say 2 hours as you have no idea what probelms you might come up against security etc etc

Yeah actually Tom is righ - you can always sit & have a coffee (if you're mega rich!) friend of mine had a flat tyre on the way to Ercan recently & missed her plane!

It is an international flight and as such should be subject to a 2 hour check in time, but being Cyprus you can turn up almost any time you like.

They have just changed my times on my stansted flight and I now have 45 mins to change in SAW has anyone experienced problems with this? It is the THY flight operated by Anadolujet

Did the journey yesterday. I gave myself 2 hours but suspect that I could have got away with one.

With regards to the change over at SAW, it was no problem at all even though we were delayed above Istanbul waiting for fog to clear. 45 minutes is plenty of time to change plane.
