My 12 months will be up in November, but if they are still giving the free month for all the trouble we had then it could be december.

I am aware that the TRNC is a rumour factory, second to none, but it has been mentioned twice now that Dopi is closing down in the new year.

Although we still get problems with freezing pictures, as we have had almost since day 1 and have lost a lot of the football at a weekend, it is still not to bad for the price.

Has anybody renewed recently, but only offered to pay a limited amount of months, say 3 only in advance, and if so what was there response.

I am not happy to pay the full 12 months again, and if this what they want, im affraid it will be good bye to dopi.

grouch is right i wont touch them again this year with a barge pole , lies are all they are good for ..if the guy who runs the place made a little more effort in the customer relations department i might reconsider to save the inconvenience and expense of changing. on Friday i went to the office and again it was closed so i called the no on the door and his wife answered who told me no one else had a problem with the system freezing and they're home system was fine so i asked for an engineer to check everything and she said i dont know when one will be near esentepe . still awaiting the promised return your call b4 the end of the day. for the tenth time this year and twenty or more times last year .. go with digiturk the only legal and guaranteed service in the north..

Nova Cyprus is PERFECTLY legal in Cyprus... probably 'more legal' .. ;)



Other options include AbuDhabi TV and SKY



They aren't illegal - you just aren't in the areas that they pay the TV rights for



None of the three 'alternatives' will freeze up because of 'issues' with the decryption of the pay TV system..

We have just finished with Dopi, it`s the only company that makes you pay a years contract but only gives you 10 months viewing, with all the problems over the year with freezing.

They couldn`t care less terrible attitude from the management.

At last we have the best.

We are looking for a package which will give us Premiership coverage/Sky News and some films.

If you want SKY News - then - currently - the only FREE way to get it is via SKY UK - a well installed 1.8m dish will get you that - be aware that it may go pay ! Naturally - if you receive UK footie - then you'd get SKY NEWS - whatever happens





Using a 1m - smaller is not recommended for satisfactory winter ( wet weather viewing ) - you can get UK footie via AbuDhabi TV - neither have the TV rights to be supplied in Cyprus - but ...

Just a though on Dopi, but if the rumours are they will stop trading, this will probably be enough to convince most not to (re)subscribe, so they will likely stop trading due to lack of finances, now, try and get a refund for the un-used time.

Get a dish, if there are 2-3 house pretty close, get one with a multi LNB and share the costs. Sky boxes are available on Ebay for about £20.

Job done.

I can't remember exactly, but it wasn't a lot. I think in the region of 140tl. Go to the Digiturk Office on the road between the Lefkosa roundabout in Girne and the New Harbour roundabout. It is about half a mile from the Lefkosa roundabout on the left hand side going toward the New Harbour almost at the end of the parade of shops. Terrific service. It was installed three days after I requested it and I pay them by monthly standing order through my Bank. When the season ends you simply cancel the Premiership package and revert to paying for the basic package only until the start of next season, then have it reinstalled again. Worth doing. Enjoy.

Does anyone know if the Digiturk premier sports package is in English commentary as I heard it's in Italian? We swear at Dopi every night when we sit down to watch something only to get the viewing interrupted about 10 million times!!!! It's shocking what they are getting away with, our subscription is due in Jan and we will definately not be renewing, I hope they do go bust! and to think that they are still taking peoples money and taking on new customers!
