Belediye billing discount infor please

my wife has just transferred the billing account which was in the builders name to hers after producing her title deeds

the word is there is a deduction now its in her name ,the belediye told her to go to Girne behind the Hosp to have her billing amended to a new rate

the wording on the receipt they wrote is "final approval land"(kaymakamlik) we dont have a pool and I assume we have been paying more in water as the bill was in the builders name

does anyone know the rate for title deed holders thanks

I dont believe the rate's you pay at the belediye do differ depending whose name the kocan is in, obviously if you were paying for a pool and you dont have one this will affect the amount of property tax you have to pay - http://www.hbpg-trnc.net/documents/Tax_property.html

We live at Tatlisu & have been paying the builders rate for water of 6TL per ton, even though the water bill was in our name, because our builder never got final approval for the site. We were told last week that we can get it reduced to the proper rate, now that we have our title deeds & I am going to the Beledeyesi in the morning to produce the kocan. The proper rate in Tatlisu is 1TL per ton, with a min charge charge of 10TL.



If the rates in Girne are the same, that is the discount you should get. The property tax & other Beledeyesi charges will be the same.

Ann once you done that you then have to go to the big white building in Girne behind the Hosp to get your charges amended.we have already been to belediye and paid the pending bill due,and after showing the title deeds the account was changed from builder to our name then the rest have to be gone in town to get the bill reduced thanks

My understanding of this issue is that you must have Final Approval on your home before you can get reduction in water rate. We got our Kocan for the land a couple of weeks back.



It would be of great intrest to know if you have any luck, and is the Kocan for the house as well as the Land.

laptarunner, I didn't get the reduction. Our shared deed said that we do not have final approval, so I was told we could not get the water reduced. Yet the mayor had only the week before told one of our neighbours that we could.



Now that most of us have our deeds at long last, we will have to try & get the final approval ourselves, as our builders are never going to do it.

my wife has just come from their office in girne to sort the water reductions and they did not know what she was talking about!!! she fells as stupid as they are ,I arrive on the 14 and been told all offices closed for 9 days bayram is that true?

just been told its the standard charge that drops ,in my case from the present charge of 17 lira to 12 lira

a saving of 5 lira per month is all that we get, i was advised that we need to take all documents title deeds,contract of sale (originals)to get the new rate ,well is it worth persuing this to save 5 lira

this includes all of us let me know your view

ps this is only done after the office send the inspector to view and note everything is above board then with this report you go back to the belediye office to reduce the standard rate, there is no other reductions applyable

sorry I assumed there would be alot of saving seems its only 5 lira a month so I hope I did not get anyone's hopes high!
