I had Digiturk for 5 years, felt it got too expensive, it then made Hallmark a pay channel and that was the final straw, I cancelled it and 2 years ago got Nilesat, the film channels now have Arabic subtitles which take up half the screen and its very hard to watch.

What else is out there and at what cost? What should I be wary of?

Help!

there is only one system that leaves you independent of problems like you have mentioned for a one of payment, and it requires a 4.2m dish a sky box, and a freeview card to get the 5 extra channels. - UK Freesat.

Speak to Iceman for a price.

yrret

re msg 4 - igf I may just point out..

The system you refer to is called 'Freesat from SKY' - http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/

not to be confused with Freesat - who got quite upset with SKY - http://www.freesat.co.uk

The former - with a 'Freesat from SKY card' - will get you ITV on a 1.8m .. the latter won't, as the powerful ITV is scrambled :(

They all come from the same satellites - but a working SKY card opens the powerful ITV, SKY three, Five USA, Fiver..

Astra as in 2 ( UK stuff ) at 28degrees East)

OR

Astra as in 19 degrees East ( mostly German stuff)

or Astra as in 23 degrees ?

I'll hazard it's the first.. you need AT LEAST a 1.8m dish to get SKY stuff, and a 4.2m to get the BBC stuff ( not BBC HD not available)

CRB

Best speak to Icemen (Mustafa) his details are on the link in post #4

I know from experience, and Marky Mark will also confirm that Icey is the best installer by far on the Island, and probably one of the best in Europe. He only sells the best kit for the low signal reception.

Give him a call.

Can't beat SKY, we have had it for 8 years now with no problems.
