Has anyone taken a bicycle either still boxed and unmade or made up on a plane to NC from London.

Hi Wanderer, Was it part of luggage allowance or extra payment and which airline did you use?

which airline are you flying with ?

north or south could make difference as well

when i looked into it last year .....it was ok at the cta flight as luggage allowance ....it was £20 i think extra with monarch but that included a cardboard style crate they wanted fastening around it minus pedals and no air in tyres .

if i recall a peg flight was ok as long as it didnt exceed your luggage allowance

the only small issue then is how you blag customs perhaps ?

cta 3 years ago no charge wheeled it to large luggage at Birmingham after booking in loosed a bit of air out of tyres no issue

Easy jet allow it at a cost each airline does their own thing also remember getting it to the house or the hotel by taxi before the flight and after you've landed

Each airline has different rules which needs researching or if it is a permament import you might do better to get it sent as part of a land / container consignment (try Jo Valentine)

Mint 1955, I have taken my bicycle on many flights to the TRNC as taxis are expensive from Ercan to Esentepe, so far no problems but they do object to you cycling up and down the isle.
