Hope you all had a safe and fun bonfire evening. Is there any proof, that loans were taken out against paid for properties?

If loans were taken out against properties, paid for by UK Brits, by builders that have now evaporated to mainland Turkey, like in the Akfinans case - did the banks involved use the BACS system to transfer the cash? or could the auction rumours be false, just to increase stress levels? Julie

Loans were taken out by developers, or shall I rephrase........A loan\mortgage was taken out by one of the largest developers in the TRNC on a complex already built, and sold to ex-pats in Esentepe. The mortgage was in excess of £1 million, and I know this as a fact, because I and other Committee members actually met with the bank manager in question to discus the matter in depth. The developer was good to their word, and paid of the mortgage when they said they would, but they were worrying times for the 71 owners concerned. Michael
