did the world petition enouugh to save Sakineh Ashtiana from hanging yesterday in Iran. We have had power cuts so not seen or heard any news. Does anyone know please x

Iran do not care about human rights, i fear that all the media pressure will only make them carry out the execution to prove a point. I hope i am wrong, what is the world coming to when we have to hang women or anyone for that matter.

It is so sick. I wonder what happened to the man in her adultery case? There has to be 2 to tango.

I watched a fiasco of a trial on Iran t.v. of a woman accused of murdering her lover's wife. He had

asked for the death penalty, but it looked as if she was going to escape it. He was a famous baseball

player, or something, and she was obsessed with him, and she still pestered him during the trial!

It was really bizarre, and who knows what's going on in that country. I hope this lady was spared.

You will probably never know if she has been executed or not Lilli - if you do, it won't be until Iran is a place whereby one can find out the truth, that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down the line - but what is a public record, is the e.mail addresses of everyone who signed the petition.............

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, sentenced to death by stoning for adultery, may now be executed for murder. Her lawyer and son have been arrested, and the only word is the government's announcement that "the judgment has not been finalized yet".



Just read this, in an article about Shirin Ebadi........who now lives outside Iran
