I have read over the months alot of negative comments about new businesses starting up, yet isnt this proof that a new venture can work, as in the new deli delivery service??? over a hundred posts showing interest in just a few days.....! Best of luck to you I say......

The interest is there though, and not one negative comment........shows that the right idea with the right structure could actually be a success......?

Shrimp.

you need to look at the threads from the people who have posted. What they actually say is "send me more information", rather than I will be definitely placing orders. Interest in a new business opportunities should be based on more than inquiries and questions. This might be the starting point rather than the end result.

Its hard starting a new business in the TRNC, I would hate to think that people started businesses in responses to threads, rather than percentage of people that identified a true need and were willing to buy into new ideas.

I got the impression that the stuff on their price list was what they are currently selling around the north, hence not a new business, just expanding.

(Shoot me down in flames if you want to if I have missed something on the original post by them, it has been a few days since I read it and can't be bothered double checking)

It will be interesting to see how the 'business model' pans out.... There's a lot of mileage in home delivery so the overheads are high.... The positive is he's got little competition at present... but you know Cyprus.....

It has been going for a while. I asked for their "menu" and decided it was too expensive but I really hope he/she does well.

to cover the cost of import, transport, delivery, social tax etc. etc. it is impossible to keep the prices low, so the chances are that you buy a lot of stock to get the price down from your supplier and sit on it. nice prospect!!

Do not forget that he is supplying joe public off of the back of his commercial clients and if he does not have those then it is not going to work.

Oh how interesting .... firstly thnx shrimp for this new thread !

secondly , alsancakjack is quite correct .. we are already supplying 11 of the most well known 5 star hotels and a handful of restaurants , so supplying ' joe public ' is ' off the back of our commercial clients '

Brinsley , you are also correct , the home delivery service part is a new idea and yes fmgc yet to be delivered ! However , we have had our initial orders from 'joe public' and will begin first deliveries today .

I hope the new customers will give feedback and reviews on here .

laptamike , your absolutley correct

Groucho , about ' no competition ' Yes I know for a fact that we are the first trnc company importing food & beverage from USA , as has been confirmed to us from vetiriner , health and agriculture departments .

CarrieRbag , i would love if you can point out what you thought was expensive pls , as we have done market research and positive our products are competively priced

Pls note our case weights and packaging , they are catering size , you need breakdown costs to understand how cheap it is against supermarket products .

i,e 150 - 200 grams of processed cheese agains our 2.25 kg block of processed slice , we are definatey cheaper than any product in supermarket ,

100% usda certified 80/20 lean ground beef patties 17.50 TL per kilo ,,, philly steak ( sirloin 25 tl per kilo !

pls let me know which you find expensive , we will re look at it , thnx
