Saw on the news last night and in this morning's paper the ugly scenes in Larnaca where there was supposed to be a 'PEACE' gathering with artists from North and South. This took place I understand in front of a person from the EU - the Turkish artist was stabbed (he is OK) and the Hellenic group of the far right fighting others - screaming all foreigners out - I suppose, meaning anybody who isn't a Greek Cypriot - they showed themselves for what they are - no way can the two sides live side by side (my opinion).

We went through the new checkpoint at Yesilirmak yesterday and drove down towards Polis. What a beautiful part of the world, by the way. We were limited for time so only got about half way, where we stopped for lunch at a place called Como, I think. People we met and spoke to were quite friendly and accepting, even though we were quite open about where we had come from. Trouble is the extremists will always make the headlines by their behaviour whilst the views of the silent majority go unheard.

Bill. The importants of staying out of the EU is plain to see , Turkey should stay out in my opion and the TRNC future is working closer with them. Hell what do i know my thgoughts thats all.
