| I know this has been a topic previously but feel the profile needs to be raised to make everyone aware of how devastating this is ... We have just lost a palm in Ozankoy. It wasn't until we heard the chomping in the other trees that we realised what it was! We have a further 4 palms in very close proximity that we have sprayed with potentially lethal insecticide, as advised for this very "bug" by the Mediterranean Gardener. Still digging out the live beetles and the cocoons from the carcus of the dead tree but seems we are only scratching the surface as these blighters are still alive!!!! 2 days on and we have now almost completely dissected this tree down to its roots and the amount of cocoons, grubs and weevils will make any one feel sick. Hopefully though w this will stop these ones reproducing and moving on! Apparantly it may not be too late to save the others if you have some highly lethal under the counter pesticide and painstakingly spray down into every individual .

| Is there noone out there who has successfully rid themselves of these? We are now right down into the ground under where this poor palm once stood and the soil is alive with these vile critters. I fear there is no chance for my others now!!!! |

| sorry Judy, but as I mentioned before, we were told once they have their teeth into your palm, it's lost. I do hope someone comes up with a remedy for you, as it broke our hearts to see ours being pulled apart. |

| Thank you flowerfairy. It is the other 4 I am worried about and just hope we have got to them in time. It is just so sad because they are lovely and well established being about 5 or 6 years old and they provide a lovely "wall" at one end of the pool. |
