AAh! Thanks I did wonder about that but hadn't noticed, in previous years, that all the flags at petrol stations etc had been at half mast. Guess I have been more observant today.

I've seen the flags half-mast in many TRNC places today - but in several places in Taşkent (6xm: formerly called Vouno - btw have you ever visited the small, saddening "Martyrdom museum" there? Do it.) they were not. Does any Cypriot Turk C44 member know the reason?

RE msg 6, LordJim: If I'm not mistaken Horatio Nelson had only one good eye, but he did a rather good job, didn't he?
