Hi, Just switched on TV and Sky and cannot get any of the BBC channels that we normally have. Message says the standard "no satellite signal" - anyone else have this problem tonight? Would be grateful if someone could check and confirm it is not just me!

Thanks

Judy

Tnaks "Brinsley" but not really in the mood for unhelpful wise cracks! I just want to know if this is a local issue or whether others cannot access these channels. If anyone who normally has the BBc channels could they just check and feed back.

Thanks

Well, as an eleven year old kid (profile) check that you've not pulled out one of the wire-connections whilst playing with your doll!

re msg 1 Judyr

is your box an HD or an ord/ sliver SKY+ ?

The instructions to fix are slightly different..

Firstly, you tried removing the mains power for 5 mins - restoring the power - and 'praying' ?

Check for a spider, may have taken up residency in your LNB.

Hi Quarmby, this is a VERY good suggestion and if the power-cycling doesn't work, and a forced s/w update, then LNB / dish 'issues' are the next port of call !

Hopefully. Judyr will see this and let us know, what box she has - if the power cycle does work..

Hi Mark

I used to have this problem about once a year, spiders web.

slight change of subject, heard on radio this evening that the BBC are going global with the i-player, I would assume it would be subscription for those not using a vpn.

Thank you. It is a new Sky HD box and for what seemed to be for no apparant reason lost the BBC signals. We did the obvious power down to reboot but this didn't do anything and yes I was aware of the spider issues. Luckliy when the dish was installed clever Ajip was aware of this problem and put cling film there to stop them! Don't know if anyone else had a power cut last night at around 9 but when the power came back on, so did BBC. Wierd!
