Having lots of reception issues again with Dopi-especially Sky News.

Is this a general problem or could it be our equipment?

When we get "freezing" we turn off the electricity at the plug for the box and turn on again after 10 secs. Quite often it starts working after the re boot, not always though..............

yes, i do that, it usually works then. I have been told i need to take my box into their shop for it to be updated, as ive just moved and had the dishes moved. Think i got the same channels, but they are all jumbled up, not in the order they were in before. will they charge me for this???

Got a phone call yesterday reminding me that my subs are due. Told her I wasn't paying due to only receiving "free to air" channels, quoted C44 re problems. She denied there were any problems and if I telephoned then took box to office, all would be well. Been quite happy with DOPI mainly, but not lately. Is it worth renewing?

re msg 4

>>Is it worth renewing? <<

Was this a SERIOUS question ?!

re msg 2, Lally

If the 'freezing' only happens on the channels that should be 'pay' ones - not paying the ACTUAL company that provides the service, that is .. then this is down to dopi 'method' of pirating the pay tv signal being 'flawed'..

In 99.9% of case those paying for the legit service have no problems at all..

re msg 1, Mr Ted - SKY news is currently free and extremely stable on the satellite aimed at the UK.. it is also perfectly stable on systems not supplied by dopi...

Called Dopi today they said it was not their fault and the reception would get better during the day.

Its still no better-will never give them anymore business-they are a joke!

Every post in this thread made me laugh unstoppable. If you don't get what Dopi didn't pay for, what are you complaining about? I'm sure 6xm can explain it technically much better... Mark?

P.S. We may read 6xm's answer here - unless a certain moderator sees fit to close another Dopi thread for his reasons.

I gave up with it, it was just too bad, not worth the hassle for all the reasons above and more.

MSG 5: yes mark, the question was SERIOUS. I suppose you are advising against renewing then? Wish you'd make it clear, it isn't a quiz, is it?

I have been having most of the problems outlined in the above posts. As I live quite near to the DOPI offices I have been around there frequently, only to find that their door is always locked although there seems to be a 'permanent' sign there telling us that they will 'be back soon'. I for one am having serious doubts about renewing my subscrtiption when it is next due. I had my box upgraded when they told me that this would improve the service (sometime last year I recall) but I actually haven't noticed any difference. In fact, I've lost a lot of the channels altogether, including 'Sky News'. Am still living in hope but, meantime, can anyone suggest a provider that can actually deliver the goods AND maintain a reliable service?

Dear Denizen

re msg 15

I am sorry - but as I've been banned twice for warning folk they'd be wasting their money - only to be proved right ... the answer would have been somewhat obvious - unless you are fond of wasting your money !

Pedromax24 re msg 16

All legit systems that don't pirate - i.e NOT using one legit subscription card - then sharing in over the internet are reliable

You have a choice of DigiTurk and Nova Cyprus ( RoC service in Eng / Greek ) - easy to get cards / subscriptions

OR:

SKY / AbuDhabi TV - you aren't officially covered by their TV rights but there are many folk who can advise how to get it

OR: IF you have good internet - using a solution that allows you to watch via the computer.

I don't think Dopi will be in business much longer - went to their "closed" office again only to see a Court Order on the door! ummm, interesting...

Reception over the weekend was terrible.

No Sky News and 95% of the channels were scrambeled.
