could be a real rags to riches, Harrison training in the mountains with his family present...Haye in a multi-mill pound gym...a real Rocky moment. Doubt it though!

*I* want to see David Haye fight Wladimir Klitschko - a real fight - not that farce of last night that I never go to see on *my* TV.. ( SKY did the right thing and gave us 50% off for six months as it was their error) http://www.klitschko.com/eng/wladimir-klitschko-calling-out-david-haye-qdont-be-a-coward-and-run-awayq.html "“I want to send this message to boxing fans and directly to David Haye. David, you've bitched out on fighting both Klitschko brothers twice already and now's the time to make it happen. On behalf of the boxing fans around the world, I am officially calling you out to fight me. You can't run away from me forever and you need to follow through with this fight if you want to be respected. I'm ready!!! What're you waiting for?"

mmmmmm: I dont think Haye has bitched out of fighting either of the Klitschko's. The first schuduled fight with Wvlad was cancelled as Haye injured his back during training. The reason the fight contract negotiations have been so protracted is because the Klitschko's proposed contract terms are totally unreasonable. They had been proposing a lot more money and that the fight (and mandatory two rematches should Haye win) all be held in Germany. Haye seems like a pretty savy bloke and he'll make sure the deal is right before he steps in the ring with either Klitschko in what will be a risky fight.

Hello Mark, To be honest I do not care to much for boxing these days. Too many worthless titles and title holders. I long for the days of the "Sugar Ray Leonard" "Thomas Hearns" "Marvin Hagler" era....Michael Watson was the best of the british trio with Benn & Eubank being capable opponents. "Steve Collins anothe great boxer. Wilfredo Benitez and Duran were amongs the greats........Barry McGuigan was great to watch and my friend Jim McDonnell well worth paying to see. Loads more of past greats... "Casius Clay" the greatest of them all. School boy boxing at St Pancras Gym............those were the days. .....Seconds out!

Bill, I always knew it would be.Haye has gone down in my estimation, after fighting a bum like Harrison. What happened to the T.R.N.C. flag, was it still emblazened on Hays shorts. Mark, Re 17,excellent post.I used to love my boxing in the Eighties, when there really was some proper champs. Britain really did have some excellent middle weights then.Eubank,Benn and Michael Watson, were true fighters, who could have gone toe to toe with any fighter from any country. The world heavyweight division is a complete joke now, Paul.

re msg 15/16 I've followed the Haye and Klitschko camps and if you cut through the 'cr*p' it is patently clear that Haye has been avoiding them - what is unreasonable about the longer standing champion asking for the event to be in Germany - note not Ukraine - and splitting the kitty 50/50 ? Haye only makes a noise when he knows they have made a deal with someone else - 'coz the have to or they'd lose their title. I heard the Klitschko spokesman say that a 50/50 deal is acceptable and a meeting anywhere - where the kitty can be biggest - be that Wembley, Middle East, Germany - and that the contract can be agreed this week ...

When I did my army basic training the Physical Training Instructor was Brian Brazier, the Army Lightweight Champion, Combined Services, Commomwealth etc. His way of testing fitness was to put a platoon of 30 plus soldiers of weights varying from 9 to 18 stone in the ring together sharing perhaps 10 pairs of gloves and only 1 each for those first in the ring. He would then order a fight for all, with no rules whatsoever, other than if anyone came out of the ring before the bell they fought him. If was mucking fayhem. If both Klitchkos, Harrison, and Haye had been in that ring they would have ended up in the same place as me .... the military hospital, along with the rest of the platoon. The ensuing Board of Enquiry ended in exonoration as there was no "elf and safety" rules in those days to be adduced in evidence. I took up squash afterwards !

Talk this morning of Fraudley Harison having his purse reduced due to his performance on the night. He is just a coward wanting a payday and bigged himself up for weeks and fight fans bought it ( including me @ £14.95 ) in the believe that he a punchers chance...... Joke ..... he should never been seen on TV or gather any media interest again, he is a disgrace and should be forgotten & quickly. Just a shame that the ref saved him, would like to have seen him take the big shot and leave him flat out... no less than he deserved.

re: msg 24 You are correct that the Klitchko's have softened their approach towards the Haye camp due to the fact that they realise there is some genuine interest in this fight and thusly they will make a great deal more money in agreeing a bout with Haye. However, this is recent occurance. The reason the Klitchko's want to fight in Germany is because they have always been traditionally based there and have as big a fan base in Germany as they do in Ukraine and furthermore their main sponsors are in fact German. You cannot argue that because they are not fightin in Ukraine they are some how fighting away from home or even neutral territory. Germany is all Kbro! The original proposed contract was for Haye to fight Wvlad in Germany, should he win he must fight Vitali, in Germany, should he beat Vitali, he must fight Wlad again in Germany... Germany where it is notoriously difficult to get a points decision against a local fighter and almost impossible against either Klitchko.

Latest press reports suggest that Haye broke a Boxing Regulation by placing substantial bets on himself to win in round 3. This is strictly forbidden apparently. Fraud investigators now involved. Oh dear!

Hollie re msg 30 Thanks for your response. It was all about TIMING.. when Haye got injured, Wlad HAD to fight someone or have his title stripped.. Haye then made a BIG song and dance about the bros NOT 'wanting' to fight - even staging an 'ambush' at a charity event in London - calling the bros - 'chickens'.... yet it was HAYE who called off the fight, and it was not the first time.. I don't think this was stage managed- but who knows ? ;) The Klitschkos have always commanded more box office money than Haye - and after his last 'fight' might still - those that can bring in the bigger revenues call the shots.

I just saw Audley Harrison down at the local off licence and he ordered two bottles of rum, a bottle of brandy, three bottles of Martini, a bottle of whisky and some fruit juice. I think he was trying to learn how to make a punch.
