Just went to feed a little dog I have been feeding for some weeks now. By Silver Rocks. So shy and timid. I found him dead. Looks like he was hit by a car. Im so upset. All they look for is food and love . To live like this.Im sorry but it breaks me in two. Got into the car crying my eyes out and saw not one but two dead cats on the same bit of road. x

Ahhh.... Lilli, I'm soo sorry... Poor little thing... You do such a great job... I guess maybe he will be happier in doggy heaven not having to scavenge for food and dodge crazy drivers... Big hugs... XX

Thank you shrimp. So many people do so much here to try to help them. If I could only win the lottery I would take them all off the streets. x

perhaps you could put them all in a great big compound at the end of the karpaz, then I could get some sleep at night.

I do wish TRNC would carry out regular culls of feral animals, dispatch as quickly and humanely as possible, collect the bodies there and then, and cremate away from the public eye - such cruelty that these animals suffer is horrendous. I also consider it cruel to neuter or spay animals to then put them back out into the public arena to fend for themselves for what could be long, miserable, cold, hot, starving, frightened lives............... I also reiterate my wish that every single animal, by law, should be microchipped with the owners details, and by law, if they leave the island, give proof positive before they are allowed to do so - to whom they have given their animals OR proof they are being shipped out with them. Too many people with "circumstances they can't discuss, that forces them to leave their animals behind" get away with this over and over.

Hi MsGarnet you know my feelings on it. Your wish is my wish but whatever the circumstances are that they leave a domesticated pet to fend for themselves i can never understand. I see the pain in these poor dogs eyes.God forbid if ever Im lucky enough to leave here I do not know what I will do but I could never ever leave them to fend for themselves. My family want and need me back and go mad at me for considering the dogs. Until i get enough money to take them then Im here x

If the hunters didnt starve & discard the dogs during and after the hunting season then there would be no need for shepherds and locals to put down poison.

These poor dogs are starved all year, caged up and if they dont perform just let loose and cause problems.

Toots thank god this poor little one wasnt a hunting dog. she lived on the beach by silver rocks. I never could touch her or hold her. I just left the food and waited away from her. She knew the sound of our engine and waited every night.I only hope she wasnt waiting for me when it happened. You know how mad the drivers are on that stretch of road. No lights on the roadside. They are mad drivers on that bit of road. i dispair now knowing the hunting dogs will be the next victims x

They see she is a pure pointer and want her for hunting, It even got to the stage a few weeks ago one of my friends offered to pay me money because his uncle was worried his dogs were no good for the season.

Thank you Berilela, Toots you get rid of Milly over my dead body.If your friends want a pure pointer Bertie is. Berilela I hate that stretch of road. I see so many poor souls raiding bins. I know many will think I'm stupid to get so upset but even though I couldn't befriend him he waited for me every night. I think I cried a river tonight for all the souls walking the streets here. Last night a pointer walked past the restaurant which was the double of my Jack whom we lost a few weeks ago. I was stupid I called out Jack and he ran off.

Hiya climakool, everyone tells me to get hard. I cant . There is not a day that goes by that i do not find some to feed. Our car is like a mini vets.Only food and water and containers. You know I do not look they are just there and I cant and wont turn a blind eye. One night I saw a dog being badly treated across the road from the restaurant. One of my customers just took me by the arm and put me inside the restaurant and told me to stay there.I couldnt let it rest but the dog by that time was being led away by a young lad so i felt happier. Imagine my surprise when we about to close at 11.30p, there she was. A wonderful couple adopted her and unbeknown to all of us she was pregnant. I offered to have her back. She was ans a beaut. She produced 12.They the wonderful couple found homes for 10 and kept 2. My heart is full of love for them. To this day day I do not know how she got to me x

Msg 27 - then the Government should provide one..........I am aware of the burial rituals of Moslems, but are you saying then, no-one else can be cremated?

To the best of my belief ( not 100%) it is against Islamic law to be cremated so I would imagine that in an (albeit quite flexible) Islamic country it is highly unlikely that this facility would be available to foreigners
