Eye halve a spelling cheque,

It came with my pea see.

It plainly marques four my revue

miss steaks aye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a quay and type a word

and weight four it two say

Weather aye am wrong oar write,

it shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid,

it nose bee four two long

And eye can put the error rite,

its rare lea ever wrong.

Aye have run this poem threw it,

I'm shore your pleased two no.

it's letter perfect awl the weigh,

My checker tolled me sew.

Nice to see this poem has now reached C44 also - it's only been circulating by email marked “Sauce unknown” and on the 'Net since... April, 2000. :-(

I lifted it from volume 4 of Tom Shields diaries dated 2000. I was not conected to the interweb until after this date. It made me laugh
