cooladnan,

Always make certain whatever you are sending is in a brown envelope. Never mention on the address it is going to Northern Cyprus eg. If it is going to Lapta, the name of the person, P.O box or address of road, Lapta, Mersin 10, Turkey. If you follow these simple rules, they should get it.

I gave up with North Cyprus postal service after having lost 3 parcels that were sent to me here in NC. I now have a PO Box in the South and get my post there- fast and nothing lost.

Don't risk the North

I always send parcels from the post office. I send them by 'Global Priority'. This takes about 8 days and goes to the post office where it has to be signed for. It is also tracked all the way to Ataturk airport. No parcel can way more than 30kg but a multiple-item consignment can way a lot more. An example is that i sent 5 boxes as a multiple-item consignment weighing 68kg. This cost me £145 to post and was in cyprus 8 days later. 'Global Express' is a lot more expensive and 'Global Value' is not tracked, that is why i use 'Global Priority' I hope this helps

"Anything can happen between Ataturk airport and Ercan". That's what I was told when I complained/investigated to the North Cyprus Post Master in Lefkosia!

Without tracking and insurance to the final destination, I wouldn't risk any parcel

I have always received mail ok, parcel post seems to arrive sooner in about 5-8 days whereas letter post is

normally 10 days but longer around the holiday times. Jiffy bags are best for things to arrive safely,

you must put Mersin 10 Turkey and not north Cyprus.

We did have 2 separate letters that came via the Philippines for some unknown reason but they still got here

eventually after a long detour!
