Vaughan.

You asked me in a past post, why i went to the private opening night of this bar and had not gone to the restaurant when it opened.

To be honest i had not had time.

But i am very glad you rattled my cage.

I went there tonight, and friday night, but tonight i ate there.

I really did have the most wonderful meal and mouthful after mouthful of food was better that the 1 before,my chicken stuffed with cheese and wrapped in smoked bacon was amazing,as good as it gets.

My GF had the liver, she was not to keen on it,it was to rich for her, liver with red wine! But my cat loves it.

In fact i did not get out of there until 02.00.

The end bill from arriving at 20.30 until i left was very reasonable.

I shall be returning, and working my way through your menu, but i shall be passing on the liver.

We want a basic liver and onions and mash potato, forget the fancy red wine with liver.

only my opinion.

All in all. id say 98 out of 100,fruit crumble was delicious.

Hi Dave,

I'm glad you went and I'm gllad you had such a nice meal.

You have described what we are setting-out to achieve - fine dining at a reasonable price.

When you book next time - if you want your liver without red wine sauce, just ask Terry who takes the bookings. I'm sure he won't mind, it's the extra things that people sometimes ask for that he hasn't got time to do

See you again soon.

Had a fantastic meal there myself last night with my husband and two friends.

We all very much enjoyed what we ate and will defantly return again and again.

The food was tasty, nicely displayed and well served. The price was very reasonable especially for what we had along with drinks all night.

The decor and atmosphere was unique and very relaxed.

Loved the fact that we were not rushed away from the table to make way for other diners.

We too left after 1am very content.

Hi Vaughan ..

Six more satisfied customers .. Everything about the place is excellent ..

The food could not have been better .. The table settings were the best we have seen ..

We will be back ..

A bit disappointed we were not offered complimentary coffee & brandy .. Most of the venues we tend to visit this seems the norm ..

Waiting for the brickbats .. Owt for nowt ..

harita,

We are glad you enjoyed your meal and we look forward to seeing you again.

For those that ask for coffee and brandy, it is complimentary. If you had it and were charged for it, you shouldn't have been. Have a double on us next time you come.

If you weren't offered it, our apologies and the offer of a double next time stands.

I must say, this place is sounding better and better.

Will make a point of venturing to the East next time we're over.

Good luck for the future.

Correct me if I`m wrong, but from what I understand,Eleanor Rigby`s is owned and run by Billy & Dave,as a matter of interest, what is your position in the running of the bar/restaurant,Vaughan?

Well, you are partly wrong - Billy is not an "owner" of Eleanor Rigbys, nor does he run it, Dave does.

However, Eleanor Rigbys is part of the Octopus Group (Octopus Pools, Octopus Aquapark), of which Billy and I are directors.

Part of my remit for the group, including Eleanor Rigbys, is marketing and sales.

eyebob, comment 14...as a matter of interest, what is your matter of interest? does it really matter who owns the place and who is in charge of marketing!?!

Heard lots of great things about the restaurant and look forward to visiting shortly
