I was curious given the state of the market how the average real estate agent is going now.

Is is financially worth while at present and how many sales do you need to make in a month to survive.

Not certain you will hear the truth if estate agents do answer. They will most certainly say things are a bit slow, but steady.

There is a theory that now is a good to buy as there is a possibility a settlement could be reached and an opportunity to make instant asset growth.

That's what has been peddled since 2004 at least. It's not just about a settlement. The high price of the Euro/Ytl, price of flights, credit crunch, length of flights, budget airlines going bust, political/legal uncertainty until situation calms down which could take several years, cheap property available elsewhere i.e. Spain etc.

Hi, I live in Spain, and I can confirm that the market is dead and has been for at least a year. This is not confined to holiday regions, but to the whole of the country.... just like UK in fact. The exchange rate between the pound and the euro has not helped. Several estate agents, especially British owned, have gone to the wall (some just packed a suitcase and went back to UK leaving staff unpaid and other debts unpaid.) It is definitely a buyer´s market. Is this the case in TRNC? I have had a yen for several years for a little holiday place in TRNC (having lived in Cyprus for three years before partition) so I am trying to do as much research as I can about the current situation. Any comments welcome.

Ainhoa

I'm sure that there are many 'bargains' to be had in NC as there is in Spain. Just have to make sure that said 'bargain' doesn't turn into a heart breaking nightmare as so often mentioned on this forum. Under no circumstances would I consider off plan but neither would I in Spain.
