I have been sorting out my clothes in preparation for our move to the TRNC. I have 4 pairs of winter boots, will I need these in the TRNC? I know it gets wet & damp for about 10 weeks but does it get cold enough to wear boots?

Some winters you will need wellies. electric blankets, scarves, gloves. We have spent times in the TRNC winter times and it can be very colder inside a villa than can outside.

Another must for us when we visit in the winter is throw down the sheepskin rugs, dig out the warm slippers, fleecy wraps.

Last year the roads were like rivers. Having said all of that it is a very short winter compared to the UK all of these wintry things can be stored away pretty quickly. Hope this helps !!

god yes you will need them, got my mum to bring over some ugg type boots just so i don't feel the cold coming up from the marble floors as all my previous slippers were useless and my feet were like ice blocks. Not the case any more.

If you use boots in the Winter to avoid chillblains you can use them again in the heat of Summer to avoid snake bites in the garden

ugg boots or sheepskins for the cold cold floors, unless you have carpets down and still its best to have god slippers...........The weather is great but it drops down so quickly say from 28 to 10 its the drop that makes it cold............fleece balnkets, hot water bottles, an electric blanket if you want. Flanelette sheets..............just the same as you would use in Uk. Of course if you can afford an arm and leg then central heating running, the log fire, or multi fuel great Jog bottoms to put on at night to sit in even thermals...............I. It is only for about 8 to 10 weeks though and during the day its fine - once the sun goes down. Wellies or walking boots are good.........ts still fab. Sue

As 'pipie' in msg 5 advises, you'll need these:

bring it all, i have never in my life been so cold as those few weeks. IN fact wonderful customers brought me in an electric blanket and i thank them so much. I'm small framed and feel cold, that i can take its the damp i cant. To the Butlers wife you will need your boots. I only said to a customer tonight. who is on holiday and she was all wrapped up.How do you like this weather they told me it dropped from 25 to 14, thats cold here.I'm still in my flip flops but going to have to invest in a pair of shoes and get my boots out

If anyone has visitors coming over from the Uk for Christmas, Costco in the UK have a similar genuine sheepskin boots exactly the same as Ugg and made by the same company for £30. I have had Ugg and I'm wearing the Costco boots now, no difference at all, except for price... bargain.

Hi Butler,

I advise you to bring along Wellies as it can get quite rainy here.. Usually around the time January, Feb.
