Ledra Palace if you want to travel on some where else or Lokmaci (Ledra Street) if you just want to go shopping

Crossing at Lokmaci will put you into one of the two main shopping streets of Nicosia. That is Ledra Street - however, if you walk to the top of it, you come to Eleftheria Square [Freedom Square] - cross that and walk straight [50 yards/metres] on and you will come to the other main street, which is makarios Avenue. All around that area, you will find every type of shop, except something like [DIY] Homebase, which is a bit annoying! There are, however, buses that will take you to The Mall [Ikea, Carrefour, Homebase, Debenhams, etc.], but having never tried to use this service, I can't tell you the costs, there and back.

Perhaps some informed forum member can oblige?

re 6

You may cross with any EU passport, or if you are of Cypriot parentage - other nations MAY be refused entry as the 'rump' RoC does not regard any 'TRNC' entry port as an 'official port of entry'.

Being pedantic - you are in Nicosia on both sides

Msg 7 At one point the limit was not more than gooda value 140 euro but you would do better to ask as you leave the TRNC as the customs post men will be also able to let you know what products you should not bring back to North Cyprus & what they can charge duty on.

Msg 8 is correct

The Ladra Place crossing is about 500m from the Holiday Inn. An easy walk.

You can only use these crossings (Ledra Street & Palace) on foot.

Most people seem to park on the North side and cross over on foot using taxis or buses if they need to travel about. There is a taxi area on both the North and South sides of the Ledra Palace crossing.

Buses go from Solomis Square just beside the Holiday Inn.
