Can anyone let me know the road number or name of this road.... I know its a big ask but it will save me going to it, or a dreaded visit to a government office to find out, perhaps Hans would know it...

RE msg 1, rollinbones: I'm not aware of a road number; the road is generally known as the mountain road. But I'll have a closer look at the maps in my archive.

look on gooogle earth starting at karsiyaka and follow the road up the mountain - road goes underneath the old monestry, then up towards Kozans take a left there and along that one you will get to he tank. Then continue (could take a couple of hours depending on how fast you go) and you will come down towards St hillarion..............Its fantastic for the views. Sue

rollinbones; Where are you planning to hit the road from? If in Girne, drive towards Lefkosa, you'll see a sign on your rightt just before Bogaz to St.Hilarion castle, take that turning and just keep driving, you'll eventualy come to it.No need to turn back as the road will bring you to Karsiyaka.

As far as I know now: "The mountain road" has no official name nor an official road number. The ONLY way to check it is at the TRNC Mapping Department in Lefkoşa (North Nicosia). Send me an email to mcf.trnc@gmail.com and I'll reply with the right contact (mobile) phone numbers.

rollinbones Hans is correct. I looked for a road sign etc when I was up there today and there is not one. I spoke to the owner of Kozan Restauarant about it and he stated that there is not an official name. It is known to the locals as the tank road or St Hilarion road.
