Just to let you know that a new restaurant has opened on the Sweet Homes site called Stevie's Bar - the food was good and reasonably priced and we were made very welcome by Steve and his wife Linda.

If you are looking for a new venue to try I would recommend giving it a go...

Best Regards

Hi BHW,

When we ate there my wife had Sea Bass and I had steak and they did some sausage and beans for the children.

Can't remember exactly the prices but think the sea bass was 28 YTL and the steak 20 but cannot be sure - the food was good though..

Thanks

28 for Sea Bass is quite expensive for here... are you sure? Tatlisu Belediye Restaurant it's only 16... and the beers are cheap.

For Wyn : Black Pudding

Jock 1 : Haggis

Dodge : He loves his Fish Fingers he does

Wacky : Craves for his Fried Mars Bars after a game hope Steve can supply these for our home games .>>

Groucho - would you mind telling me please where to find Belediye Restauant - we were over last week and did as much research as possible in trying to find restaurants near Tatilsu (we are buying at Sweetwater Bay) - we did find a lovely restuarant in Kaplica. Just had a thought are you referring to 'Tatilsu Belediyesi Sosyal Tesisleri)? If so, we found this place by chance, it's in a great location. We didn't eat there but had drinks. The drinks came with fresh bread, hummous, and the best olives I have tasted. It was very cheap too. Very sad, because the place was empty!!

during the week it's lovely and quiet... at weekend it's full of locals..

It's a little bit of heaven.. right down by the sea... OK so you have to negotiate a bit of as yet unmade road but it's worth it...

Yes we thoroughly enjoyed it - but after drinks we went onto another restaurant in Kaplica - we had the best fish ever!! Lots of it - you can tell that it was just 'out of the sea' - we'll definitely eat at Beledisi next time. Great views going to the restaurants though, a bit of an adventure!!

Groucho-

Can't remember the name, but it's the large restaurant/hotel further along the road. Has [rather surprisingly] some grass between the hotel and beach

Hi all

The forum does it again !!!!!

The Sea bass at Stevies bar in Kucuk Erenkoy is FRESH and it is on as a special only when they can get it fresh and it is 20ytl not 28 as said earlier in message 7 by palace, the menu includes a lot of local favourites as well as european meals, every tuesday evening is Kleftigo night and not to be missed as it is one of the best in the area.

the restaurant owned by Tatlisu beliedere is on the sea front just as you leave the Tatlisu area travelling east towards Kaplica and is also quite nice although more basic and the sea Bass and sea Bream are good value.

I did say in my post that I was not sure of the cost and that the food was good and Stevie's Place is well worth a visit ?

Our apartment is on the Sweet Homes site and we have eaten at Stevies a number of times so I am not sure why Mickey Rourke is stating "the forum does it again!!" as though we were criticising the place?

thanks

Sorry palace I was having a dig,

you did indeed say you were not sure of the cost, but the seed was planted and you know how things on here get twisted, and a feather in Tatlisu becomes a feather pillow by the time it gets to Girne,

you were also asked if the fish was fresh surely you could have asked Steve and reported back on a positive note instead of getting upset and throwing the toys out the pram with your last post

sorry if youre upset Stuart

I did know that the fish was fresh but I am not monitoring this site 24 hours a day to be able to respond so quickly - I do have a life and a job to get on with?

I cannot understand why you are claiming "I am throwing my toys out of the pram" - the original posting was meant to be positive and to encourage other members to visit Steve's place but like so much on this site the message is twisted.

I am not at all upset but frankly a bit bewildered by your comments??

Hi jakki

just past the little petrol station , on the corner is Celek restaurant . Drive down the little road towards the sea , past a newly built mosque , turn next right , you will then find Yamons a little furthur on along the coast road , approx 7 minute drive from the little petrol station . Hope this helps .

Have to agree Stevies is an excellent addition to the area. Always made to feel very welcome and Stevie goes to great lengths to get the very best produce for his meals. Also, one of the few places where you can get proper Turkish Chai.

We went for Sunday lunch, At Stevie's Bar,

the roast beef was sliced sirloin!!!

Can't wait to get a T-Bone, or Fillet steak.

And it's all indoors, so won't get too cool at night!!!

Good luck with your new venture Steve and Linda

Oh! and Cengiz.

Tatlisu seems remarkably well serviced with good restaurants.

We have been several times to the Tatlisu Belediyesi which we think is amazing value with good food generous servings and a brillant location and was very popular with visitors we have taken there as well.

Look forward to trying Steves and Celek.

Was at Stevie's Restaurant last night and he said FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER ONLY he will close on a Wednesday. This is because one of his chef's is in Turkey for the month. He does not have internet access at his new place yet so if you are at unsure, CALL before you go.
