A bank worker who boasted about receiving a big redundancy payout on Facebook was fired after employers saw the messages.

RBS employee Kate Furlong, 23, posted the messages minutes after her bosses at the bank announced they were planning to cut 3,500 jobs in September.

The debt officer at the bank, which is part-owned by the taxpayer, immediately posted on Facebook that it was the ‘best news ever’ and that she would be getting a ‘nice payout’.

Wasn't there an instance a few months ago whereby a woman posted obnoxious remarks about her boss on facebook and subsequently got the sack because he was a friend of a friend on her facebook page?



I think you have to be very careful when you are talking about someone on both facebook and twitter. You never know who is reading it.
