As many of you may know my partner, Peter, is a violinist. Since leaving the UK he has been looking for a fellow violinist with whom he can just play, mainly classical, music for the fun of it rather than anything too serious. Is there anyone on this forum who could fill the bill on this.

Suppose it is too much to expect a sensible response on here. Knew it would be a mistake but thought I would give it a go.

Try ringing this lady: Veronika 0533-8655225. Her husband, John, is a violinist but unfortunately I can't find his phone number. They live in Lapta. John and Veronika are Romanians but both speak excellent English.

Thank you. Unfortunately, it appears that John no longer wishes to play the violin. This would have been ideal as Peter is also fond of gypsy music. We will keep looking.

I'm a big fan of Nigel Kennedy.

His album East meets West with the Kroke band is superb.

We have a gentleman on our estate who plays the violin but unfortunately they don't live here permanently. I think they may be due back out in january and they usually stay around 3 months so I could pass on your details if that would be of any help?

Thanks, that would be good, although we are away in February. If you like to email me, I can give you all our details.

msg 13...actually it's not rude at all...true gypsies came from Romania, and it's a privilege be a true Gypsy...

Gypsy music was once (and still is in some parts) considered very beautiful and poignant and i myself adore it, so please do not get pedantic about music on a thread that is quite innocent.

Thanks DD, Gypsy music is actually a style of music, nothing to do with where one comes from. P has played Gypsy music in the UK and hasn't yet been arrested for not being politically correct or being racist. Could we just keep to the original request. Someone has emailed me with details of a possible orchestra, this would be good as Peter has played in orchestras in the UK.
