Does anyone know of anywhere these can be purchased ? We have two terrapins who are beginning to feel the cold and we need to find a way to create a warm enviroment for them. Any ideas?

p.s. please don't suggest turtle soup!

A candle in an inverted clay plant pot works well.

Ok, I just know I'm going to sound thick, but how do you do that? They are in a tank which is half water half land, so where do you put the plant pot?

Put the tank on tallish feet and place a tea light underneath it.

As TRNCVaughan says or on the land part or island in the water, use a night/tea light candle and cover with plant pot or ceramic pot with holes in it. It really works for localised heating, but the pot can get very warm.

I see what you mean, and it seems a good cheap solution, the only problem is that they are lovely creatures but not very bright and I am worried that they will burn themselves on the pot, but now I have the idea I will try to come up with a solution. Many thanks
