They announced yesterday that all welsh students will only pay £3000 for their uni studies. any foreign students ( from abroad) will also just pay £3000 to study in Wales but students from the rest of the UK will have to pay the full £9000 to study in Wales.



To me that stinks of racism.

i also agree to let the welsh pay their own dole money ,working tax credits ,JSA ,and D.L.A .



you lot are great at independance until it comes to paying your own way .

fact less workers in wales than anywhere else ,more claimants



bankrupt in 2 months without us poor old english

Nothing racist in the decision, it's fantastic being able to make our own decisions, after hundreds of years of English colonial rule. The English students are only being charged the same amount as any Welsh student when studying in England. EU nationals are also charged the same amount as that charged to Welsh students when studying in their respective countries (what's racist in that).

I suggest that it's the English who've messed up with their ridiculous higher education policy of up to £9000 fees for students. Don't accuse the Welsh of racism when it's your own c--- up! It seems to me that you're going back to the old Victorian times of "Higher Education for the Wealthy only" or the students from middle income to poor families end up with huge debts, which will be a milstone around their necks forever.

not actually racist as, for example, a lot of Asians born in Cardiff will benefit from this. Bit unfortunate for someone whose Welsh mother gave birth to him while his father was stationed abroad for a few years and then the family returned to Wales to live for the rest of their lives.

If a Welsh student studies in the England he/she would be paying the same as any other student of equal status. No racism being practiced there.



If an English student studies in Wales, he/she will pay more than a Welsh or foreign student. Racism being practiced here.

Colliedog, Manchester gets the majority of its water from the Lake District. Sheffield gets its water from Ladybower reservoirs etc.

I think this thread shows very clearly that when a nation knows they are 'down and out' they will try to claim anything ......... water for the whole of the UK my #rse.

If they want to charge differing fees let them, people will vote with their wallets, and the overseas influx might move to Wales.

Wales provides very little, except cheap labour, they couldn't survive independently, and the only reason many people are buying there is it is so unsuccessful that it provides a source of (in the main) cheap property as it is so undesirable, otherwise why would property be so cheap.



If you want a vote on Welsh independence, give the vote to the English and see what the outcome is.



But, on a point of law regarding the fees - any form of discrimination, where the nationality or culture is mentioned is a racist comment in common law.

Look at the price of lamb, do you think that's all we eat? Why eat it ourselves when we can charge the earth for it. But then grass needs to be watererd and if you ain't got it, well pay for it.



Get real guys, we live in the UK if you have a problem with that, then I feel sorry for you. What one has we should be grateful for. And as you say Wales has very little, but isn't the Welsh the ones that were here first???

And I've the memorial to all the Welshmen who were killed in it's construction.

Yes the Midlands gets very cheap water,I think in Ceredigion we paid four times what the English are charged.

I was taught in "ysgol"-school_that we,Welsh,are the fittest people from England,the ones that could run,climb mountains,and not the ones that got caught and raped by the Romans,and every other Nation that invaded England.I here England is going to change it's name to "Poland 2"

The only racists I can see here are you English, just look at the racist comments above, and I also can't believe your arrogance. Why do you always assume that you're correct and everyone else is wrong. Just do the sensible thing and charge students affordable fees (£3000 maximum), the English students can then all come and study in Wales, for the same fees as Welsh students.

We no longer have to put up with the elitist education policies, drawn up by Westminster, which suit the wealthy. We cherish our Higher Education, that's why we've made the fees affordable to all our Welsh students.

In all probability, what you can't handle is the fact that we're making our own decisions, which comes back to your in-built colonial mentality.
