Why do The majority of members not post ??

The majority do not post on this or the othe boards.



This Is A Fact.







Given some of the recent comments the tone of recent comments and the fact the some recent members have joined all I can say is it a wonder.



I talk ( in real life ) to many many members who all say the same thing .....





They read the posts find them informative sometimes funny sometimes sill But would not post or have GIVEN UP POSTING because of THE VEROSITY OF ATTACKS FOR



spelling mistakes !!



Asking a question that has been aked before !!



Fear of being a victim of organsed attacks y groups of people ( cyber bullies )



And redicule if they ask a question that another member feels they should know the answer to.





SO I ASK BEFORE YOU KNOCK A POST OR INDED THE POSTER IS YOUR COMMENT LIKLEY TO ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO POST AND CONTINUE TO POST ???

Well said Nige....I think you have said what a lot of members think.

Long before we moved over here we always found this and other boards very friendly and informative (still is to a degree from certain members) but of late it has become a battle ground for the few who have nothing better to do than slate other members.

I have put a couple of posting on the board, one got made fun of (looking to buy hose pipe) and the other one(asking about yoga classes) never even got a reponse, obviously too boring.



Hope your posting will encourage some of the members to be a little bit more thoughtful when replying to posts.

Well in my opinion it is because the forum isnt democratic...it is run by a few bigoted ppl who stifle competition...and only offer debate on efes...hardly stimulating..

Agreed. A little interjection of crack occasionally lightens the board up. No need to tell people off for having a smile or an opinion or cant spell. There are many postings that could have a quick witty comment posted but sometimes even I refrain. Dog Gaurds this morning comes to mind.

I have had my fair share of "knocks" on other boards and to be honest it is a little uneaving for the timid but fear not all you no posties. Join in and add furter value to what is, in my opinion, one of the better sites available.

I think this board has been a victim of it's own success, when I joined there were probably only forty members and the threads were informative and helpfull. There wasn't any bickering or name calling, everyone was friendly. As it has grown I notice that apart from orange Kazzy and occassionally bored housewife and Simbas have all stopped posting. I miss how this board used to be and I miss the people who used to post. Even UK Turk rarely posts now. This should tell all you new members something, lighten up and stop all this meaningless banter about efes, you sound like a lot of alcholics and I am in a meeting of AA. All this name calling and picking fault with each other is not necessary. Please all you old members who used to post, come back I miss you.

I used to enjoy the forum and found it informative and quite funny at times, the wide variety of topics was useful, from the trivial to the more serious, and with the forthcoming talks these should be discussed, but in a constructive manner not reduced to sniping and insulting each other.



We all come from different walks of life and have different values and opinions and thats just what they are, OUR opinions and values, but one thing we have in common is the TRNC with its good and its bad points (appears more downsides than positive at the moment!)



We do not agree with everyone we come across in life and just because someone has a different opinion it does not give us the right to hurl insults at that person, by all means disagree but do so in a constructive manner. I aware it is difficult at times as some subjects are emotive ones and are very close to peoples hearts.



I do not post often but do read the posts daily, as for the dismissive, the pedantic nit pickers and those who seem to have no respect for others who opinion differs from their own, I tend not bother with, unless of course I have to, if I post something that someone does not agree with, fine, disagree with me, I posted it and I have to take responsibility for it, I am a big girl I can take it!!!

Although my only contact (at the moment) with the TRNC is through this website I enjoy the banter and when the jokes and innuendoes start it really brightens up my day. There's a lot of people on this site who are extremely quick witted and if you are reading a thread and notice the times of the posts you will see what I mean. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and freedom of speech (within reason).

I'm worried that the forum has apparently been hijacked by a few with the intent of discrediting it. I'm sure that it is monitored by interested parties in NC i.e. by builders - see Boyut thread as an example. Are these interested parties who fear the truth getting into the public domain now trying to gag this forum by these means?

I am in the same position as Mysteron having yet to visit - 8 days to go! I have always found everyone very helpful with all the questions I have asked & have no objection to a bit of banter. I have even managed to join in some threads and will hope to be as helpful to others in the near future.

i love the banter on here . i have never been on another site before , so i was a little put out to have my spelling picked up on so i deliberatly spelt it wrong the next few times i mentioned chardonay. see wrong again, but do i care no. it is the people who pick up on this that are sad.

there is no need to attack anyone. everyone has a right to their own oppinion, and should they write something that no one else agrees with should be able to debate the point without attacking people .

Over the last few months, I have found this forum very, very helpful and full of useful information. I stopped posting regularly because a small clique of the regular contributors appeared very insular and ridiculed new members when they posed perfectly pertinent questions. Not a problem to me------------- I stopped posting 'cos it got on my nerves-----------I don't need it!



However, read through the 'Who is Private Pike Really?' thread, and you will witness a very juvenile tirade from certain people, who obviously have nothing better to do with their time, but sit at a computer sniping at all and sundry for no apparent reason. In an earlier thread, i read Slipper 1 accusing someone of being sad because they sit at a computer contributing to this forum. (Slipper 1 90 posts in 4 days??????? I rest my case! Wouldn't be so bad if 1 or 2 of the posts made any sense!) Why don't you sad people just live and let live?



I don't know if Pikey, slipper 1 and susanne(and one or two others) are the same person, and i don't really care. I just wish that he, she or all of them would go and play their juvenile games elsewhere! People are very brave pulling people to pieces on a bb like this, especially those that choose not to fill in thier profiles in an adult manner(If the cap fits---wear it!)(Slipper 1 when you fill in your age, you should do it in years, not months!)



In conclusion: The truth of the matter is that a few jumped up individuals are spoilng a good forum with their petty childish rants!





P.S. Amessage to Wyn,Simbas, Little Nige and all other regular contributors, please do not be put off by any morons ridiculing you, you are all doing a good job helping new members with their questions! Maybe if you ignore them, they will get fed up and go away-----PLEASE!!!!!!

A word on the disruptive posts of recent time one or all have frequented the boards for a few years now , they tend to back each other up and as far as i can assertain are co ordinated in their attacks.



One or all of them have posted on a bb set up where there is shall we say freedom to express your self in a way the majority of members on here would choose not to.



How ever as the board is not of interest to the main stream of people who youse the boards their abilty to shock, upset cause disquiet is some what limited.



I make no reference to this board or its members who are now posting on here in the vein hope they may go away.

Totally agree with your original comments Nige, joined this board 9 months ago and had a friendly welcome from members ( I remember a nice welsh one from Simbas!) Recently, I either cannot stand the arguments, or don't understand what on earth people are talking about!!

Too much sniping and back biting on here now for me.Its a shame really as i used to enjoy reading and joining in.Still some very helpful people on here though,and i am sure they know who they are.Theres a time and a place for obtrusive remarks,and i have always tried to limit mine.And when i have posted any i have tried to make them tongue in cheek.



Maybe the forum is too big now and lost some of the personal touch that i believe existed on here.Good luck to all those helpful people on here and hope that what you hope for works out in the end.There are some very complex issues that need thrashing out over the coming months and years,and as no one has a crystal ball we cannot really pre-judge what will happen with all the issues that are on going.

A member from day one, I have seen this site go from fun, informative to downright disrespectful.

Its only recently that i have started to come back to read, and from what I gather, its not much fun anymore, even the host is not safe from attack from the select few .



Before i post on a board , I have to read, then re-read and even edit my posts just to make sure that there isn't a word that can be twisted around and mocked with by some of the posters on here that have nothing else to do expect pick threads apart and make fun, and you wonder why people are not posting as much.

It's probably a good idea that not everyone posts otherwise the threads would be too long, difficult to read, hard to follow and we would never keep up with them.

When this site started out there were only about 7 or 8 different posts per day. I have noticed now that If someone posts a topic in the morning, by the end of the day this post could end up at the bottom of page 2. It's a bit overwhelming.

Trouble is some of the members of these boards attack companies and people without warrant, it is their way of defending their own ignorance, and unfortunately when some others defend the offended they become the attacked and get accused of being someone or something they are not, it has happened to little old me, this is the way of the jungle, it's dog eat dog, but once again I must say that on the whole this forum is very informative and funny, keep it up Wyn and Nige and you other good posters
