Hi all,



I am looking for a hand raised Lovebird (Love bird) preferably a very young one or a very tame older one. I can offer a loving home to a pet that needs to be re-homed or I am willing to buy. Does anyone know of any breeders or anywhere that sells hand raised ones. Thank you in advance.

Arn't love birds supposed to be kept in pairs? I have seen them at the Wednesday market but as I don't believe in birds being kept in cages I didn't take any notice of price. Please have a rethink about keeping a lone bird in a cage.

Hello, thanks for the reply, I already have a lovebird, its actually a myth that they need to be kept in pairs, as long as a single lovebird is well looked after and you spend lots of time with them (become there significant other) they do very well alone. I dont agree with birds being caught to be kept as pets but if a bird is already in captivity then I dont seem the harm. I dont think the market sold ones would be handraised? could be wrong though.

I'm not sure where you are but there's a restaurant by the name of "Happy Garden" in Ozankoy, Kyrenia- ask for Erbay (sorry no tel no.), he breeds birds as does his friend Cemal. I'm pretty sure he has love birds.
