Amazing how quickly the TRNC courts can make a decision when it wants to. Not that I think it's biased in any way.

Message 2 it is such a shame the information available now was not as easily available when the kulakaz 5 people bought . I an sure they would not have looked at trnc never mind bought here if they knew what they know now.

doggiesteve "martin 5-7 years ago you were branded a loon if you dared to question about the safty of buying in trnc" You still are.You only have to look at the excuses for corruption trotted out by ,I have to say, mostly Brits. I dont think the TC's are as naive or prone to wishfull thinking.

I would say that over 90% of new visitors to the TRNC are completely unaware of the problems as highlighted on the Brilliant no-deeds-no-money website. The question is how do you make these people aware of the problems as no doubt the estate agents will paint a rosy picture. It all about making the first timers aware, and then the market will really really dry-up. BUT HOW? Anyone any ideas. Michael

apc2010 I agree. However it appears to me that the developers and builders, along with Estate Agents and the authorities over there, have done their very best to steal money from vulnerable folk who just want a good deal - and sunshine. A better life... What these people have achieved is persuading everyone...NOT TO BUY THERE...and that includes me!

doggiesteve, i read this story today then saw your link to nige, I am so glad you brought it to the attention of people in the UK. This beggars belief. I cant get my head around this whole saga. Its just so awful for us all here that we are so powerless to help them. As you are already aware we came 6 years ago and the mood of everyone was so uplifting, border was going to open , developers coming in with promises they believed in. It seems a million years ago but we all had hope not greed as some suggest just a better future. Now its all turned against these poor people, all us aga people and it goes on. How quickly can a country collapse x

I have been coming over to TRNC for many years, and talked to many that have bought land - with no right of way, and villas with no title deeds...but the agent said everything would be OK, and those that have paid deposits on promises. Lilli your comments are oh so true!

Talking to a couple today they are here for a week to look for a property, I asked them some questions i.e. PTP they didn't have a clue what I was talking about although they have been out during the last 4 days with estate agents, when I mentioned deeds the man said "you can't buy a house without getting the deeds when you hand over your money" "I said try it. I directed them to this site to find out more information.

APC That note on the foreign office site has been there for a number of years too. Anyone buying here is taking a gamble and that is reflected in the property prices.

Bought my house 5 years ago, paid £100,000 and don't even have a house as it is not finished we are having to rent here as we had to sell our UK home to pay for the unfinished shell which stands up the road - thanks to Cafer Yugelgazi and they say he is still building in Nicosia and even has a building company even though he has left hundreds in messes and unfinished houses all over TRNC AND Guess what?????? he is now a REGISTERED Builder - But he still does not even go back to visit the properties he has abandoned.
