I would like to meet a lovely British lady here, fall in love, and live happily ever after.I hang my stocking up every year, but it is always empty in the morning.

If she could give me half the love, and kisses, and licks of my new Cyprus Terrier,Hunni,I would be happy with that.

Mike

I am thinking of making a list of things I need (never mind want!) so that my offspring don't

give me things I don't know how to use, or need.

I was there last year when they had those hailstones size of golf balls and caused lot of damage.

quite scary, and very unusual. My eldest son just slipped on the ice today and smashed his face into

a metal gate - sore but no jaw broken. He will try to get to work again tomorrow for 3rd time!

You really need spiked shoes and snow tyres this winter here. I am staying in most days.

The English language radio station in a middle east country asked the British Ambassador "Mr Ambassador, what would you like for Christmas?"

He thought for a moment and decided that as he schmoozed these 'media-types' at various embassy functions throughout the year a small gift would not seem out of place at Christmas but it should not be too ostentatious so he replied "A box of crystallised fruit".

Imagine then his horror when listening to the radio the next morning and the result their poll of embassies was announced...

The Russian Ambassador "Peace and goodwill to all"

The Swedish Ambassador "An end to disease"

The US Ambassador "An end to war"

The French Ambassador "End to Poverty"

The British Ambassador "A box of crystallised fruit".

Moral... be careful what you wish for...

I know what the Wildebeest (bless her) is getting. All year I tell her "drop your drawers, I am Santa Claus" and all year I am told "No chance, it is not yet Christmas". Suppose my wish must remain, peace and goodwill on earth for all mankind. Merry Christmas !
