Hi everyone,

we are planning our summer holidays, we want to go to Nicosia for a week. My kids and i are coming from England by plane and we want to find a nice hotels where it offers children activity, it has to be a friendly hotel and has a nice view. we like visiting too, so if you know the best spots to visit, just let me know.

we want to go there in july because my children will start their summer holidays.

can someone recommend some hotels where you have been too?

thanks a lot everyone

see you!

Do you know that July/August are the hottest months in Northern Cyprus? I kindly suggest you don't stay in Nicosia, where it's usually even five degrees hotter than in Kyrenia (which is only 20 km away and has cheap dolmuses in several directions, including Nicosia).

Mariett,

Nicosia is definitely not a good place for a holiday with children at any time of year. It is a city which is ok for a day visit. There are plenty of lovely hotels which would happily cater for children on the coast. Lapta, Kyrenia, Catalkoy, Esentepe, Bogaz, Famagusta. In July & August you need to be near the sea and have access to a pool. The temperatures can reach 45 centigrade so keeping cool is vital.

'the butler' is referring to the temperature in the SHADE - probably it would be 55+C. in the sun!

July & August for many people is like enduring another winter, for the reason that it's too hot to venture out, so they stay indoors with their airconditioning.

Hi everyone,

thanks for your tips! i didn't know Nicosia can be so hot during summer time!

i have checked Kyrenia and it looks fabulous, i may go there, and if it's just 20km form Nicosia, it'll be easy to go there for a short visit or to go having a walk there on the evening!

moreover, i've found good deals for hotels on http://hotel.twenga.co.uk/cyprus/kyrenia.html and on http://www.allaboutkyrenia.com/ it's great that i can have many choices!

anyway, i hope july will still be ok there, because after, my kids are going to see their grandparents so i can't change the dates unfortunately! :(

thanks again everyone!

Called him/herself Corben when placing the same ad for Twenga on an Irish site.

Just possible he/she works for Twenga!
