| They are clearing their stock of portable gas BBQ's at the big store next to Erener petrol station at the beginning of escape beach. From 100 to 200 pounds. Before I hear you scream, gas BBQ's are a doddle to light and use compared to charcoal and I rate them. |

| It really depends on what ype of BBQ you want... The local cheap and robust ones the locals use are really very good and the beauty of a portable is you are not restricted to BBQing when the wind is in the right direction... One of the bug bears of the built-in permanent types is that under certain conditions you can't use them without filling your house with smoke or probably more critically your neighbour's... I hate it when a neighbour smokes you out and so do they! At least with a portable one you can shoose where to site it based on the weather.. Charcoal is readily available and cheaper than the UK, however most locals just get some sticks etc by going for a short walk and collecting it and light a fire about an hour before they want to start... this makes it really cheap to run. I use a gas portable bought in the south from "Super Home Center" (£75 now - was on £49 when we bought) it's good because it's instant and because you use Lava rocks it's still authentic BBQ taste. |
