Sara I think the 150 lira things are those cheapo tin ones, If you have one it needs to be decent one and it MUST be fitted by an expert.

Akinlar in Girne as jock 1 says, they are very good. The fitters are a bit rough around the edges.

But if I remember you've got a fireplace, so one can go in there. You may need the chimmney lined. (steel flue), and may be a spinner.

We had ours fitted by Akinlar and i have to say that it was the best decision we could have ever made and the best money spent. We have had it alight for the past 2 days and my house is all open plan so very hard to keep warm but this fire is doing the job and we are only burning a quarter of the wood, only wish i could have another fitted upstairs then i would be sorted!!!!!

Sara we paid 2600 TL but they had a lot of extra work to do on our chimney and we also had a big fire made. but they will come out and give you a free quote. I am sure that in 2 years we would have got our money back, Last year i had the open fire, gas heater and also the air con in the kitchen and was still cold. I can only say as i find but i am sure like us heating an open plan house is not easy, now i am nice and warm.
