14 members of the SC voted for the resolution and 1 voted NO> that was Turkey. The resolution is to extend for a further 6 months. The UNFICYP is made up of 859 milatary personnel and 68 UN police force.

Someone asked me why turkey said no. I think it was greylad. Well Im told that the reason is that the Turkish Ambassador to the UN stated that all resolutions passed after 1963 , including this one are not valid. Reason he gave is that there is no government on the island. What you make of that i really do not know x
