Wyn's photo clearly shows 2 F's, my photos of Harbour Parasols and bottles only show one F?

I'm 'effin' confused!

There's only one "f" in Efes. The other must be a competitor selling the stuff

Efes Beverage Group

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jump to: navigation, search

For the basketball club sponsored by this company, see Efes Pilsen S.K..

Classic Efes Pilsen Bottle

Classic Efes Pilsen Bottle

Efes Beverage Group was founded in Turkey in 1969, and today consists of 14 breweries in Turkey, Russia, the CIS countries and Southeast Europe. The company is named after the ancient city of Ephesus (Turkish "Efes") located near the İzmir brewery. Efes Beverage Group, a subsidiary of Anadolu Group, is the largest producer of beer in Turkey with approximately 80% of the market share.

The flagship product, Efes Pilsen (called Efes Pilsener in English) gets its unique taste from rice added into the ingredients at brewing stage. The 5.0% ABV beer has been described to have a "tangy malt and hops aroma, rich malt in the mouth, and a bitter-sweet finish that becomes dry and hoppy".

As well as the main product, Efes also produces three other beers: Efes Dark, Efes Light (a low-calorie version) and Efes Extra (a high-alcohol version)

As of March 2005, Foster's Lager has been brewed, marketed and distributed in Turkey through Efes Beverage Group. Efes exports to markets in the Middle East, Europe and Africa. In the UK it is sold by the Wetherspoons pub chain, as one of their cheaper lagers.

Efes is the largest local shareholder of the Coca-Cola franchise in Turkey and produces a range of soft drinks. Muhtar Kent, named to assume the post of CEO of the Coca-Cola Company on July 1, 2008, was the top executive of Efes Beverage Group from 1999 through 2005.

Karen,

I have always enjoyed and respected your postings, but if you check my photograph there is

two "F"s on the Effes bottle.

Now I am over at Esentepe at the end of the month,so if you and some of the locals would

like to fund my reasearch, I am happy to drink as many bottles as I can, to see if I can find

another the same. to prove my point!

Who was that little "f' er, that started this?

DO NOT FEEDS THE TROLLS!

The amount of F's used in Efes is rather dependant on how many pints are consumed. Last Saturday I had far too many effing efes's and it gave me an effing efes headache all the next effing day.

Wyn

I don't really take too much notice of what the labels say, only the contents inside. I nicked the information above from Wikipedia.

Yep you are right, there are definitely 2 "f"s on the bottle in your pic. I dunno then, sorry.

Karen,

I am unconcerned, but clearly more research is needed. Have a whipround, and I will start the research, as soon as I get there.

Cheers,

Maybe there is only one "f" in the Turkish version and 2 in the stuff they sell in NC. You can't google Effes as it comes back with only one "f".

Strange isn't it.

Karen,

The photograph was taken at a restaurant by The Riverside Holiday Village, up the back road from the main office at the Riverside. I can't recall the name of it. Lovely meal though.

I think one 'f' is probably appropriate enough to describe the ghastly chemical concotion! Just IMO, of course.

However, each to one's own.

I vaguely recollect "efes" running some sort of promotion along the lines of spot the difference on their labels, the winners winning a substantial monetary prize. Could this have been one of their prize bottles.

Graham,

Thank heaven you said that, for a minute I thought I was drinking counterfeit stuff.

I thought, what has this done to my brain. Are these personas that I thought had invaded

my brain, just a figments of my imagination. Are they just computer viruses, spoiling the quiet enjoyment of decent people .You have saved my sanity Graham.

How much is the prize, and how do I collect it?

wynd.

Thanks mate! You are a star!

Wyn,

When you peeled the label off the bottle to save it the instructions how to claim and the amount won is on the reverse side.

As Captain Mannering said "DON'T PANIC WYN"

Knowing Cyprus your bottle is still probably sat in Alsancak bottle bank, they only empty them every 6 months, so on your next visit a little skip diving will be called for. Good luck.

Graham,

Can I do anything without the label? I don't have a lot of luck, and I really could do with that money. Surely they won't disqualify me when I have a photograph of the bottle. I bought it in good faith! Cash, no credit card.

Does anybody on this site, work for Effes or is it Efes. We are innocent victims! We would

be residents of The TRNC if we could get our Kocan. We have paid our builder, and advocates fees.

Please help, my wife needs a Lobotomy, and I am not happy doing it myself. Help please!!!

I need that prize money. Help please someone! Its only a label.

Hope this puts your mind at rest.
