I've used up my entire stock of jam jars making chutney, marmalade and jam to sell and I'm urgently in need of replacement stocks... If anyone has some cluttering up their cupboard and would be willing to donate them to a worthy cause... please bring them to either the Cyprus Nature Library in Girne on Thursday afternoon 2 - 4:45pm or to the Alkan Car Boot Sale Esentepe this Saturday.... Jars with metal lids only please as plastic lids are no good for hot jam! The library is in the building behind the Vakiflar Bank where the old Cyprus Today offices used to be. On the second floor... just walk down the alley between the bank and the Colony Hotel and the entrance is on the far corner of the left-hand side of the building... if you are no good at stairs... just give us a shout from below and I'll come down....

Groucho, I also find it hard to get jars so now friends keep their coffee jars and they are fine. Chris

Chris, I don't want coffee jars. Preferably I want jars with pop-up lids that prove the contents are anaerobic. Short-term you can get away with it but for long-term storage coffee jars with plastic lids are not really suitable.
