Has anyone else received an email today informing them of the below and has anyone received an explanation as to why this decision was made?

Mr. Hasan Vahib, who is the director of Troy Lake, has decided not to register the old Sales Agreements which took place before the new Estate Agency Law came into operation on the 2nd of January 2008 and that according to the information given to me by him, he was going to write a detailed letter to all these customers to explain the reasons as to why he has decided not to register these Sale Agreements.

That sounds really strange to me. It is for the buyer to register sales contracts I thought, not the vendor. By registering the sales contract the buyer protects themselves as the builder/vendor can't then take out a mortgage or sell the property again. The builders allegedly don't like contracts being registered (for those reasons) and as it also notifies the government as to the correct purchase price and not the declared one for tax purposes. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick as so often happens these days?

The New Estate Agents Law is one of the few laws, that actualy safeguards the buyer from builders taking out mortgages on their land/property or reselling that property, until the title deeds are received by the purchaser. If the sales contract is not registered then it gives no protection to the buyer at all.......the courts will not proceed until it is registered. Ismet has kindly, in the past, wrote extensively about this law and the protection it offers.

Having been criticised in the past for getting involved on Troy Lakes threads I really don't want to say anymore other than please research this and come to your own conclusions. You can then make an informed decision as to whether you are safeguarding your interests or leaving yourself with no legal protection.

A good starting point would be this forum and all the information shared on past posts on registration of contracts.

It sounds like we all have the same issues, the same solicitor and the same lack of progress and communication from Troy Lake. Is this another delay tactic?

My question is, even if each individual buyer (of which I am one) contacts Hassan Vahib, I expect that you will be told "that it is in your best interest". Which equates that it's in Troy Lakes best interest?

A question to all- Over time how much delivery have you seen? Each of us have different timeframes, but looking for the same result. Is there an end result?

Obviously some have more doubts than others, I have been waiting for a long time and still none the wiser!

I think contacting solicitor is first point of call.

Much of Mrs Blair's fee is being met by Hassan Vahib, a property developer and former Labour councillor in London, and other leading members of the capital's Turkish-Cypriot community.

Mr Vahib, 44, owns solicitors Vahib and Co, which is handling the Orams' case.

But he is also managing director of property development firm Troy Lake UK (Cyprus) Ltd. That company, which operates from the same offices in North London as his law firm, is behind two major multimillion-pound developments in Northern Cyprus.

Documents also reveal that another company owned by Mr Vahib, Troy Lake Overseas Homes Company, was dissolved after being struck off the company register in September 2004.

re message 11 , old information , that we all knew anyway , so what's the point of this , there are people with worries who are concerned about their situation and don't need old news

message 12 , if people read this , why did you need to copy and paste it as well , people need to re-assured by current up to date factual information and not by stirring up old news which only serves to upset people , do you have any personal interest in the company ?

Well said Simbas. I have sent you an e-mail.

For what is being done for the Orams, in my mind shows the company are helping North Cyprus. (my own view)

I'm looking back at your previous posts on Troy Lake, in the light of you (now) working for Troy Lake. I'm just a suspicious old Hector I suppose. Blame my experiences of NC and forums.

My name is Lorraine Balls but I can assure you that I do not, and never have, worked for Troy Lake. I am buying a villa on Othello 1 the same as everyone else. I can't seem to place a reply on the other thread but I accept your apology Tiggy, although I don't know how my name got involved as I have not been on the forum for quite a while. I have met Sharon and know that she took this job because the communications from Troy Lake were so poor. She has written two newsletters and will be letting all buyers know how their villa is progressing if they contact her. Remember, she is in the same boat as the rest of us and wants to see her villa completed on Othello 2. Maybe we should give her a chance to do her job!

Isin has managed to get her self another job as a solicitor...Surely that can not be allowed after what they have done.

She is still under the same name...

She is working at the below firm. I really can't believe people like her and Hassan are allowed to walk free.
