The 2011 budget for the TRNC Prime Ministry has been approved by the Republics Assembly. Responding to criticisms directed to him during debates on the 2011 budget, Prime Minister İrsen Küçük has announced that the 13th month bonus salaries of the public sector employees will be paid despite all difficulties. Prime Minister İrsen Küçük addressed the General Assembly of the TRNC Parliament today where he evaluated various domestic issues.

Pointing out that the tourism sector would pave the way for the development of the economy; Küçük said a protocol will be signed in Ankara on the 27th of December to declare 2011 as the TRNC Year. Expressing the hope that the new national airline company will launch its flights soon, the Premier also announced that two new airline companies were starting flights to and from the TRNC. Prime Minister Küçük also said that the current protocol signed with Turkey possessed many positive aspects but added there were some negative aspects which needed to be looked over.

He added that he had started necessary initiatives on the issue. Explaining that all European countries are taking economic measures to overcome the global economic crises, the Premier said that taxes on luxurious products, casinos and bet offices were raised so as to protect people with average income.

"Explaining that all European countries are taking economic measures to overcome the global economic crises..." And the way the TRNC copes with this crisis is by paying an extra month's salary gratis to thousands of people who already do next to nothing. Unbelievable.

Bill All civil (or uncivil) servants have been getting 14 months salary a year and I have not heard yet whether the 14th month has been taken away. I guess what Küçük is saying is that they all need to be happy with their 13 months salary staying intact obviously prior to taking away the 14th. Oh to work in the public sector.
