Have you all kept up with the USA elections thing????? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Why on earth is the press so full of this rubbish? Anyway, my question. How many billions of dollars are wasted on the election campaigns, first going through all the Primary thing, which seems to have lasted nearly a year. Then we will have the election itself. It is obscene to me when there is world full of starving people etc and the worst crime of all to ourselves the fact that the government of the sad country have still not cleaned up New Orleans after Hurricane Katriona. There are still people living in shelters and receiving hand outs. Just my musings on such a wasteful, hypocritical country.

RE cyprusishome : (...) people living in shelters and receiving hand outs (...) Hmmm. In London I saw quite a lot of people living rough on the streets and people who held their hands out - to beg.

As they do in Amsterdam but neither the result of a diaster. Most civilised countries attempt to put there house in order after a disaster, not the USA. They would rather spend money on destroying other countries eg Afghanistan and Iraq, plus wasting billions of dollars on elections that only 50% of the electorate will vote in. I suppose as a Dutchman you will know nothing about this of course, you only prefer to knock ex residents of the UK and charge extortionate rates for historical talks!!!!!!!!

There are people living on the streets everywhere in the world not just USA. Not just after a disaster, Its 24/7. Open your eyes. Whilst I accept and endorse the sentiments expressed here on inter alia, Iraq, and our serviceman should never ever have been there, don't you really think that this is a western driven mission? Otherwise known as - A crusade? As for your final paragraph - Dutchman, I assume you feel are uneducated? How blantently racist. Are you suggesting they are all Thick? OR Stupid? If you want to go and BE educated or learn about the Crusades his fee will be minimal to the knowledge that you will acquire, but I guess you will be washing your hair that night!

RE cyprusishome : (...) you only prefer to knock ex residents of the UK and charge extortionate rates for historical talks!!!!!!!! (...) Dear Mr. Waters, I'm pleased to offer you the opportunity to do the next historical reading and of course the entrance will be free of any charge. PS. This is all you need: a 3000 Euro Macintosh computer, the necessary software, a couple of hundred books and other publications as sources, a 700 Euros projector, electric cables, electricity at home to prepare the reading, an Internet connection, petrol (you have to make appointments as far away as the Karpaz and check the venue), etc etc. I understand from your posting that you can get all of this for free - unfortunately I don't. Hence the "extortionate rates" (10 Lira) I have to charge. Sincerely yours, Hans Doeleman
