We booked on one of the Dutch Crusader's walks, ourselves and two friends.

We have been of course to Famag many times, but apart from the cenral square the mosque and Othello's tower we knew relitively little of the detailed history.

We had a wondfull day being shown around by Hans, what a thourghly knowledgble guide and most important interesting, myself and Mrs H have done have experienced tour guides in most of the middle east and some good some bad. the main critisism i have is the dates they spout at you and in a monatone voice.

With Hans this is not so, he has the knack of bringing history alive.

I would reccomend anybody to attend one of his walks.

Again thankyou Hans.

And believe me the Hippo doesent handout acolades lightly.

Thank you for your kind words! It was a pleasure again to walk within the Walled City with such an interested group. It is never boring to answer questions from people who understand that "you only see what you know". Old stones in Famagusta, yes, but they can tell a lively story!

Big, big thanks to Hans for the excellent tour of Famagusta yesterday.

We like the others in the group had been before, but the walk allowed us to see so much more and really understand th City and it's history.

Hans is a great guide and we very much look forward to any other talks or walks coming up in the New Year.

Thank you again, Hans

This man is worth his weight in gold to tourism here, his know;edge knows no bounds. His interest is passed to you in an educational and familiar way. He is a star amongst the guide books etc that tell you so little Hans tells the lot, you will not be sorry x
