Have been trawling through the message board looking for a place to buy humane mouse traps.I understood from your message that you'd mannaged to buy some over here in N Cyprus Today we bought an antiquated spiteful looking piece of equipment in Marshalls .Don't think I can go through with it. The sticky pads mentioned seem almost as bad, poison not an option,I have a dog. Need to address the problem asap before I have a family of lodgers. I just want to catch the little devil and release him again Please if you read this would you post where I can buy the humane traps. Thanks

Thankyou biglugs for your prompt reply. Looks like I have no option If I could feel confident that death would be instant for the creature it wouldn't be so hard. Just worried that this antiquated piece of equipment won't work correctly and would cause unnecessary suffering. Would the type that you have be more reliable do you think? It's kind of you to offer to loan them to me but if you tell me where to purchase them I'm happy to buy them Thanks Linda

I was looking at the humane traps in Wilkinsons the other day, they recommend you release the mice at least 5kms away or they will find their way back.

Message 8 is correct also mice do leave their scent around this means of course that more little blighters will take up residence in your place

| use a 2 litre coke bottle, put oil on your finger and run it around the inside neck of the bottle, drop in some food and put the bottle at a 30 to 40 deg angle resting on something for support, put a few around the house, with the oil on the inside the mouse just keeps slipping and can't get out, once I caught 7 mice in one night, BUT if you forget to empty the mouse out, then they will eat each other, most die because of dehydration (lack of water), I used dog food and they seemed to like that. | Thankyou everyone for advice .Tried the bottle trick last night Robert.I know he hasn't been in it because it remains at the angle and the food is still there Each day I pull everything out of my cupboards checking for his calling cards. Today NOTHING! Dare I hope he's moved on.Is it just wishful thinking? I shall leave the bottle in situ and also go to Supreme for the traps suggested by biglugs. Thankyou tinkie for your offer.I'm in Esentepe.Lili is nearer and her need seems greater than mine at the moment I'm going to post on our local forum asking if anyone coming over from the UK would be kind enough to bring me some humane traps over. At least I'll have them for the future Linda |
