I think you hit the nail on the head. Expat people are too soft with the cats. It's not the strays' faults the locals are stuck in the Middle Ages when it comes to animal welfare and control. But equally cats understand a gentle push in the backside to move them away

Hi Keith,

I happen to like cats, and really don't mind them in rstaurants, as long as they don't get too familiar.

I appreciate that not everyone does, however, and there are undeniably some hygene considerations. I think that your best solution is to tell the owners of the establishments in question that you will cease to frequent their establishments unless they DO something about the cats! (don't tell me what - I'm squeamish, and a cat lover ).

Then actually DO what you threatened - you could occassionally roll up and ask if the cats were still there, and if the answer was in the affirmative, simply say "Well, I'll be off then"!

Of course you could follow the advice in post 3, - and if the pepper doesn't work, there's always tear gas, or a Tazer... (joke!, joke!....)

Best regards,

Keith.

Cats have their place and it is not in places where food is served.

If it were a dog a donkey or a monkey then there would be no argument ... they leave nasty smell , parcels, and oin customers for the food.

Don,t get me wrong i hate cats but that what happens when you dine out side attract unwanted visitors like cats, moths, ants &mice yes i do say mice because we where having a meal in the farmers restaurant in alsancak when a cat who watch us eat suddenly jumped in this bush and started to wrestle with this mice of cause the owners got a bit embarrassed and said sorry about that but we said no at least it is doing its job and is getting rid of vermin that i do not wish to see run across in front of me while i am eating ,well done that cat i say.

I work with KAR catching stray cats and have them neutered. This helps keep the cat population in check. If you have a problem with cats please give us a ring and we will attend and catch all your cats, take them away and neuter them before bringing them back.

Hi Mr. Vince

We have about 5 stray dogs and various cats on our complex - is there anything that can be done about these please?

Thanks

Nicky
