Number of Judges in TRNC

There are 35 judges serving in TRNC at the moment. Who is going to guess the number of male and female judges? I will give the definite answer at midnight if I am still up at that time.

I seem to remember there were maybe 17-18 female judges? I know there are 3 in Girne..

Surprise surprise, there are 18 male and 17 judges in TRNC. There were two female high court judges but one asked for early retirement last month and accepted a new post in Strasbourg I think as a legal adviser to the Turkish High commissioın there.

Perhaps there are grades of judges as in UK ie District, Crown Court, Red, etc ?

The point is the TRNC is a very forward-thinking state in the way the Judiciary is populated on gender grounds at least...

It would also be interesting to see how the lady Adovcates stand in their ratio women to men. My many visits to the courts, it seems that there are more lady Advocates than men. Do you know the answer Ismet?
